Update's broken the Spitfire Throttle (Fixed)

Stupidly updated DCS and went straight to the Spit for a test flight.

The throttle binding's broken. Checking settings shows a red exclaimation mark. I tried clearing and re-applying the binding but it's not having it. I can click and drag the throttle in the cockpit with the mouse but can't do a thing with my HOTAS.

I haven't tried any other modules. I've got the right arse after the day I've had. How do I roll back to the last DCS?

Cheers Rudel, I'll have a go at that.

I just read about all the warbird tailwheels being fixed finally but I won't settle if my Spit goes US. even if it's a little thing, I can't have it messed with.

Cheers for the pointer 🙂.

ETA I wonder what's going on with these little red checks against busted bindings? I've seen a few dotted about but nothing that's been too much bother. PITA though.

Did you just clear the single binding?

I once got rid of a similar problem by clearing all the axes of my throttle device with the option at the top of the column.

I did yeah, just the busted one.

It wouldn't let me re-assign it though grrrr.

I'll try clearing the column too, cheers. - Wondering if it's just happening to me now and I've jumped up and down in a panic.

I'm a bit precious with me Spit :pilotfly:

Tried deleting the column. No better, when I re-assign the red check's back.
Bloody updates. I needed an advert title page though.
If you hover over the red exclamation mark. Does it tell you the conflict? You might be able to solve it by renaming the Spit's folder under input in Saved Games. If that does it, some corruption have occurred. You don't use Quaggles do you? It needs to be updated.

Nope, tells me nothing if I hover over it, even with a hammer in my hand.

I just checked. So far, I've lost the throttle on the Spit, the Collective on the Loach, the Jug seemed ok, Mossie too but it's looking pretty ugly update time.

Hopefully it's just something my end playing up with the update but I don't like it so far.

Cheers for lookin .

Like I wrote. Try temporarily rename the folder in input. I'll check on my end.

I had that happening to me as well, on all modules.
I dis- and reconnected throttle, restarted both PC and DCS a couple'o times. "Shook it" as it were.
Went through a couple of crashes due to some DX11 rendering error.
Finally it came together and just started working.

This might work ...

I have no red icons in my Spitfire controls, but I did find one in my Mosquito Engine controls. Like yours it seemed persistent, but I eventually got rid of it by the following.

  • Select and clear every item in the row, even if already blank
  • Exit and restart DCS

Nothing seemed get rid of it until the exit and restart.

I'll try unplugging, restarting and see.

I can hear Mos from the IT Crowd asking me "Have you tried turning it off and on again" 😄

cheers.

ETA: Bleedin CTD as I was trying to. Great update this one, a real box of tricks

Aha! Up your chuff update, we're back!

I restarted and the axis binding for throttle was blank. I plonked it in, sorted. 🙂

Cheers all, glad it wasn't everyone having to deal with it. Now I've gotta go checking bindings for the other lot.

Keeps me from finding more bugs in the update I spose.

cheers.

Terry gets a Bingo but thanks to all of ya 🙂

I don't have any conflicts, while a lot of bindings in various modules were gone. Caught me of guard cold starting the Mi-8 on the new map. Which is AMAZING!

Had this issue, fixed it on most by clearing the entry, and using the button for default binding, but had some persisant ones, but when I cleared it, then closed the file with the entry empty, then exited the program, and re-started the program, I was able then to enter the correct binding in the blank field and it took correctly.

This drives me nuts, although it has been rare -  would luv to know what DCS suggests we do if we encounter this again.

Oh lovely.

This might not be so easy to fix then? Not that going through all our bindings, restarting and all that is easy, never mind not what we want to be doing.

I’m glad I didn’t grab the new map, I’ve yet to see much of the updated bits as all I was doing last was going through all the mess. I’ve visions of me loading it up later and it’ll be back like something out of Halloween.

Might have a quick look around in the mod section, see if anyone’s made a Captain Chaos we can install. Who else could sort this mess out but…

My throttle seemed to be fixed possibly just by restarting DCS.

Having the same issue with P-51. Restart is required but not enough. Must clear and reassign throttle too.

Fixed Spitfire, I-16, P-51, T-51, Bf-109 throttles by Clear, reassign and restart DCS.

CLEAR every place throttle axis is assigned,  reassign to throttle & restart DCS.

What's more interesting is why it affected some but not the others. I tried 2.9.6 yesterday for the first time and after reading this thread I went straight to controls menu expecting to have issues with axes assignments on my Thrustmaster gear. Found no problems whatsoever in all warbirds, though.

You guys use Quaggles' injector or something?

P-51D, Spitfire, and Bf109 were the only three effected on my end. All other props, including the Yak, were fine. No injectors here.

I didn’t know what quaggles was until recently and I’ve yet to try it.

Seems like a good idea though, probably could’ve saved me from the bindings bug.
