@BIGNEWY  On this point, I assume there is no reason to (re)install the FC3 package as long as all individual aircraft are active. Down the line, however, if re-installing DCS, is is better to install the FC3 package or just each individual aircraft? (Or will there be an FC2024 set that includes everything down the road?

yes install the individual ones, its still all the same aircraft and it should help, it has for others. 

The team is still looking into users having FC3 auth issues.

A question on launcher functionality:

What is the intended benefit of deselecting 'use in game' for a module if you don't intend to use it in a session? I assume that the intended purpose is to improve performance in some way, but how, exactly? Is it expected to (a) reduce RAM usage, (b) reduce loading time, or (c) reduce CPU/GPU load while running? And if so, by how much? Having options is good, but it would be nice to have some idea as to whether they are worth taking advantage of, and what we should be looking for when trying them out.

HUGE problems, apparently VR only.

Since the last patch my DCS refuses to work. The launcher starts, ok.  But upon entering the old menu I observe a HUGE drop of FPS. Starting ANY mission in ANY aircraft causes DCS to crash. Befor the update it worked buttersmooth in high settings so I did not expect any major changes at least not in that scale!
Nothing else had been on my rig, the update onmly.
I have observed like 99% usage of my GPU whilst only 12% usage of my CPU.

Can you remove any unofficial mods if any and run a slow repair on dcs or verify if steam. 

see if that helps if not please send me your dcs log in a pm, I will take a look for clues

BTW: I have disabled all inofficial mods, not a change. I will run for a repair and come back.

Had to ask for a refund on Afghanistan, for a map that was supposed to come with a helicopter, it looks nothing like the trailer, everywhere I look when flying in Helmand, I see bad textures, water the seems like it defies gravity, odd graphical bugs almost wherever I look.  First times I flew and looked on the map I literally thought something was wrong with my download like when my Normandy 2 upgrade didn't work and most of the map was low quality. 

I hope these things can be fixed, but given this looks like the standard satellite made map problems. I'm not sure this can be fixed in DCS.  This is the first refund I've done. 

I already have 2 "only fly at 10 000 feet and above maps" in Kola and South Atlantic. I had hoped those maps showed the problem with using satellites to make maps.  

Not everything looks terrible, some parts with lots of houses and lots of green fields like fine. But I don't plan on flying just there.

Dear ED Team, thank you so much for this substantial update. It will take some time, at least for me, to try everything, fixed, improved or new. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this update. It will certainly still take some time to fix some new problems, but the premises seem really interesting.

I'm not sure why this happens after every single module release. No entry in the user files. One could assume ED would have been ahead at least this time.

please ensure any unofficial mods are removed also reshade seems to be creating problems for some people.

I've read all of them, the True or Not was to the actual sentence Is ED fixing or is this up to mbucchia?

I wasn't asking if it worked or not, but who is fixing it, ED or mbucchia?

Also, I'm not currently using Quadviews but was using OXRTK which I have now deleted since it is no longer supported but I will be giving it a try, I only have a Quest 3 so it may work for me per the previous threads.

Anyone have a clue why.....I fly P51 mainly and find its missing the views.lua file while every other plane I own has it in correct folder. I already tried a verify integrity and all is normal.

 

Also, I did a complete uninstall and reinstall to fix the canopy not opening or closing when using both keybind or using mouse wheel on the canopy crank. Reinstall fixed the canopy but on second flight the bug is back and I cant open the canopy. Any clue?

mbucchia has made a statement in that other thread on why he won't do it, and how ED can fix it.

An observation from me is that the pilots log does not appear to be recording. Just noticed of the 3 landings done today none of which were recorded. Additionally, flight hours do not appear to be updated. Other data might be missing ie number of kills etc. 

Worth investigating before too much data is missed. TY

Thanks for writing that. It happened to me with SC and F-14 but I forgot to point it out.

Just curious is all.. 

I have not updated to the latest version, and after looking around the forums, I think I'm going to wait until we gat another update that hopefully will fix the myriad of issues. 

I don't need to know when, just wanted to know if the issues were being addressed.
