My system is ancient, and Syria runs as good as the Caucasus even with all settings maxed out and even beyond with tweaks! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk I have a "medium" rig but I tend to fly small missions so most things run well. I'm sure I'll have very enjoyable flights on the Germany map. For me this map is all about the cities and big airfields. 1 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
Fungible Posted March 23 Posted March 23 1 hour ago, Beirut said: Performance could be an issue as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Caucasus map the easiest to run? If so, that would be a a good equalizer for MP with people having different kinds of rigs. I guess but Syria, PG and a few others are honestly not bad on performance in comparison, even in the densest of regions like Aleppo or Damascus 1

OneEyeRoss Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Some of the things that we are missing from the "ground pounder" point of view: mine fields and anti-tank ditches. Without the ability to channelize the attacking RedFor, it makes it harder to get the invading forces into the kill boxes for the air component. (Of course, the whole GDP depended on three days of prep work by the combat engineers to dig the ditches, lay the mines and build our berms - not sure whole realistic that whole plan was.)

If you want to fly historically correct and authentic, it will mostly be training flights (VFR/IFR Nav, A2A, A2G), some recon flights and the occasional alpha scramble to intercept a bogey that is heading for the border, all flights on your side of the fence only, but that promises a lot of fun and great realism. 5 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven

March/April 1976: Lariat Advance - We had an alert (sent me back to my unit from the NCO Academy, only time I know of that that happened). Went to the Ammo Supply Point and we started loading big bullets in the GOER to take to the GDP, and started loaded them into the tanks. When we got to the small arms rounds, most of us got to worrying. Turned out to be an "exercise" (yeah, sure, uh-huh). Great fun. Some of those scramble events were a lot more terrifying than they were fun. 2

Caucasus has some of the more interesting geographic features. There good reasons to like the map apart from being free. It's only problem is that it is showing its age by now. Especially in comparison to modern maps from Ugra (and others). The settlements are way too small e.g....... 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

I have flown over Berlin in the F-4E, UH-1, MI-8 and considering the detail, performance is quite good on my ststem with the Quest 3. Deimos Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago First of all, the map looks great.(love the colors) I'm about to do something typically German now: "complaining" and pointing things out I only flew briefly over my hometown and didn't recognize anything :-(. The choice of buildings is well done, but the streets are completely different or ANY landmarks are missing. But hey, these maps are only meant to give an impression of what it looks like there... Some things stood out. There are these water towers and small, round, pointy towers everywhere . haven't seen anything like them anywhere in Germany. I've only seen maybe three of these 1950s-VW buses in real life. (i was born there in the 70´s) on this map they park and drive everywhere. (Volkswagen is only a few kilometers from where I live.) Use T2 or better T3 models. They would fit perfectly with the other cars like that "123 Mercedes" and "3er BMWs". they were/are everywhere. ambulace, police, private owners, fire department, any company drove those. Btw - there's something else (that isn't Ugra's fault). The cars are so tiny. and streets too narrow. 80% of the german powelines are underground. only the large Elelectric pilons are ok. 2 AMD Ryzen 7 / 3800X 8-Core / Nvidia 4080Super / RAM: 64 GB 3440 x 1440 / trackIR 5 / hp reverb G2 VPC Mongoos T-50CM3 Throttle / vkb-Gladiator NXT premium Stick
