Are FC planes classified as High Fidelity? I can't see the point on this, if the new free module isn't clickable. But the model update is obviously welcome.

While it's nice they are making the SU25A free, it feels list a missed opportunity.

Since the SU25T is already free, new players have a ground attack plane already but there is nothing for people who want to try A2A.

It feels like they should have made the Mig29 FC free so there is an A2A option and it would build interest for the FF Mig29 that's in the works.

But that's just my thoughts.

Puh guys ….. you have to change the title. When i‘ve read „Su-25A Announced“ i was really celebrating just to find out that it‘s „just“ an update to the FC Frogfoot and it will be for free in the future….. i was always dreaming of a FF Su-25A and for a very short time i thought it will come true. That was a pretty disappointing experience….

So the fc mig29 gets a graphical update and a few months later they anounce a ff mig 29A. The su 25A was introduced into service 2 years prior to the mig 29A so they won't fall fowl of the same laws that restrict more modern red jets. their is hope for a ff frogfoot!

Thanks for the good news about the Su-25, although I'm still waiting for news about FF and full clickability in the cockpit. When I saw the first picture I thought it was the announcement like with the F-15C, but oh well, we're waiting for another news like that, not yet, not yet ...

I cut my teeth in the SU-25, so I would like to see it get some love, but being that we have both the "A" and "T", it would be nice to if one of them used the PFM.

TF-51 free mustang is fully clickable so would be nice to do the same with the Su-25.

Maybe they release it as low fidelity first and bring the Su25T and A later as FF? We dont know. For now im happy we get another updated Redfor plane along the MiG-29A

2 hopes:

That it’s released as an “FC” free aircraft initially, then later the option of paying to upgrade to full features appears later. 
 

That as for the Mi-8 they add an optional holder for the NS 430 for those that own the module - or even add it permanently- a good teaser for the module for newbies.
Just wrap it in a box and mount it above the dash as is often seen in the real aircraft

It would make sense in a lot of ways. First gauge interest with the free Su-25. If it seems to be popular/commercially viable enough, continue the development and release a FF version.

But a lot of it has to do with the FF MiG-29A being successful or not. I'm not sure ED will try make another Redfor jet if it fails.

Great update!

BTW I would gladly pay for full fidelity Su-25A later on. It was used in so many conflicts and it is extremely enjoyable to fly and fight, like a jet IL-2 on steroids - manual flight control, skill dependant manual weapon aiming, guns, dumb bombs, unguided rockets. All from close range, seeing the targets and weapon effects. Classic analog Soviet cockpit.

External model looks great, cockpit is gorgeous, it has to take a huge amont of work. It would be a sin not to use it for full fidelity Su-25A later on.

 

Just look at that, it's Heatblur-like level of work. And scratch this late Soviet era times, all this bare metal, gugged painting and welding... Love it.

The Su-25A currently resides in FC3 which you must pay for. ED is removing that restriction so that new players have something other than the TF-51. They actually be able to go enjoy combat servers without a "buy-in".

I for one would love this bird to become FF or at the very least 'click-able'.

Note that there's already a free Su-25T, for those who want to enjoy a combat server. That said, while better armed, the T is too heavy and sluggish to be really fun to fly.

On this we can agree! In my opinion an updated flight model and a clickable cockpit would very much put in the FF section of my book. I'm not sure what NAVAIDs it would have though.

Even if it's not clicky, though I'd love a Full fidelity frogfoot (FF FF?), I do hope that the extra effort has them update the controls beyond the FC3 standards, just to increase the fidelity of the module a bit, e.g. wheel brake axes.
