Hello, I am fairly new to DCS and have encountered my first issue. After the most recent update (DCS 2.9.13.6818.2), the game is unplayable for me. The issue I have is whenever I press start/fly and every loads in, the FPS begin to slowly drop until its unplayable. They go from being around 150 fps to around 26fps. It does not matter if I start in the air or on the ground they still drop. I also noticed that as the FPS is dropping so is the GPU utilization.  The weird thing is, if I crash the aircraft then press F2/F3 to view the other aircraft the frames jump back up to normal again.

I have updated my graphics card drivers, played around with the graphics setting within DCS, use different modules, and nothing has improved.

Any suggestions?

what other changes have you made to your PC , updates, driver changes etc ... some generic advice, would be cleaning out the shader cache , FXO and metashaders2 in your saved games directory for DCS... do you have a log file and a track of the problem ?  if you do then someone else might be able to help you better ?

I believe this is the log.

hello. this is the log. thanks.

Advice

Upgrade your RAM to 32 GB for complex multiplayer missions.
Change your pagefile to at least 32768 MB (initial size).

Verify that this is configured correctly in Windows:
Game Mode disabled
Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling disabled

Tuning Tips

Set Preload Radius to max. 60000.
Turn down Anisotropic Filtering.
Set Water to Medium or Low.
Enable Full Screen mode.

Tuning tips are recommendations for better FPS based on your CPU, GPU and RAM.
They might result in slightly decreased display quality.

as hammer1-1 mentioned. best to get 32 more physical memory or at a minimum follow the advice to increase your pagefile to 32 GB.

Thanks for the advice. I will try this out when I get a chance. As well look into upgrading my ram.

Same with me, but currently it is for me, only rectified by unchecking at least 2-3 cores from Task Manager affinity selection for DCS. Then it works fine. But without..it is slower and choppy than before, need to wait even on the menu screen a long time, to click.

Each time you open DCS, you would need to change the affinity from Task manager.

@Darkgamer @jojyrocks Are you gents using Helios? If you are, ensure it is up-to-date:

I am not using Helios. My new RAM should be arriving soon and I hope that will fix the issue.
