Hi @Qnnrad. Had a play around with your hotfix.

One thing I have noticed is that when in a low hover and with minimal speed - I would estimate something under 5 kts - the IAS indicator on the IHADSS reads 0. Noticed the same pulling into the hover - it reduces down then suddenly 'snaps' to 0 - despite there still being some drift/fwd speed apparent.

Will remove it back to original and see if I get the same.

Thank you for your feedback @Leg2ion!
But have you been able to relax again during hover and hover-taxi and trust the ship after installing my "patch"?

Regarding the issue you have noted, I don't think it has to do with my "mod", you will see my process below and also ED was just patching on thursday the displayed airspeed, "Fixed: Ground speed displayed in IHADSS below 40 knots GS."
If you still observe it, especially on unmodded Apache, make sure to report it (in it's own thread)!

My process, for interested: Just FYI, I have not fiddled with anything, it's just the original ED's file for Apache's FM from before the erratic yaw was reported, which turned out to be path 2.9.13.6818.2. In my process, I have downloaded historic patch and checked all files that were changed in the module. There were less than 10 files changed, and the one that I tried was the only one changed from FM (I assume Flight Model) folder. As a bonus, few posts above I have pasted everything that was changed (only 3 lines: 1 changed value, 2 removed and 1 new added). Unfortunately I can't make much sense of it, I don't understand how these specific lines affect the yaw behavior of our beloved module, but I think it helps (could be mental, expecting change or learning how to react accurately, you know how it works).

Not really! Its 'better' - but I still think something is off - but cannot put my finger on it. It just doesn't seem as controllable and responsive as it was. What is frustrating is that there have been 2 further updates and nothing in them for this - so its either something (deeper) or nothing (worth bothering about immediately). I would think if the latter though a quick fix would be rolled out.

After a month of no word about this issue from ED it's most probably they don't have a clue, at least until now.

The issue is very obvious with the aircraft.

First I've lost all interest in flying the F-15E after the pause on development, then I transitioned to the Apache and now I'm losing the interest in flying the AH-64D.

Let me chose another module so it also gets burned 😵‍💫

Changes to the FM take time and are not easy to make.

Furthermore, it has already been said that the point has been taken up, discussed and placed internally.

This is game not an IRL pilot training simulator. Every user have different equipment. Different skills, habits and piloting style. Some user not noticing this problem because they dont want to notice anything. Some not noticing because of piloting style, habits, equipment, e t.c. During flight at speeds >50 helicopter mainly stable. But (as i wrote earlier),when slowing down to hover or to speeds <40 helicopter became unstable and difficult to control. It can be stabilized but requires sometimes alot of efforts. This is very exhausting, boring. Constantly struggling with controls is not fun. Dont have such a problems with Ka-50, Mi-24, Kowa or Chinook. Fix posted earlier in this thread helps alot(well it not fixes just returns FM to state several patches ago), but problems with stability is persists. In real life if were helicopter pilot, no way i will go on a combat mission. Piloting helicopter with such problems. Problems with FM should be fixed with high priority. But here we are, three years in EA and still no fix. Regret i have bought it. Dont like its stability and very uncomfortable.

They managed to decrease the stability quite easily...🤔

Who knows how it happened? The important thing is that the issue is being addressed now.

I wish there a stabilising assist option to enjoy flying this chopper because as it stands it's just not fun, the Hind and Blackshark are much easier to fly. At least they offered the trial so that a purchase wouldnt have gone to waste.

I believe that is listed on the road map?

The AH-64D in real life has auto coordinated turns above 40kn

Similar to the Chinook, which got its coordinated turns implemented within a couple months of release.

I hope with the new tail rotor modeling that’s indicated on the thread tag reassesses LTE tendencies. The Apache is the only helo module I’ve regularly experienced it in.

auto coordinated turns? as in I wouldnt need to use rudder pedals to keep the tail in the proper position?? AND IVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG ALL THIS TIME???

Heading hold below 40 kts and auto-coordination above 40 kts in turns is implemented in DCS Apache. It has been rough at times between updates but as in real world nothing is perfect.  Even so, nothing stops you from using pedals in turns.

Hi @Qnnrad. Not sure whether its worth checking, but I think there may also be a difference dependent on whether cruise mode or transition mode is selected? Was messing around last night playing with some static objects (just started looking into this side of things so my mind was fried!), went for a quick test flight and was in cruise mode - and not sure whether its purely my imagination playing up - but things seemed slightly more stable. Of course I could be talking pure c**p and more wishful thinking on my part - but when I went back to transition mode, accelerated and pulled back into the hover, back to some very weird oscillations. This without any 'hotfixes' mind.

I always thought the modes change only the symbology, hence the symbology select name for the button?

Yep. But in the weird land whereby something has been changed that affects something else - there appears to be no logic. Sometimes the oscillations are manageable, other times not so. So having flown with the symbology in cruise - I did find it easier to transition into a hover with my heading for the most part remaining stable - unless of course I am getting more adept at putting more left boot in whereas before I wasn't - as it wasn't needed.
