Northern India Map

Ok, now can we get an Northern India Map in DCS, with the map stretching from East to West? There is more than enough reason now.

The last century's worth of history was not enough for someone(the developers) to make a map,

or they thought that way. Otherwise we would have already had one.

If so, the recent spat won't be, either. This is a semi-regular thing in those parts. There were several instances of full scale conflicts breaking out, featuring classic jets that we have in DCS. The F-86 in particular on Pakistani side, and MiG-21 flown by India.

There was 100+ aircraft furball on day 1, with multiple aircraft types going down on both sides.

The largest BVR engagement in recent history.

More interesting than the one-sided strikes in the Middle-East.

The Afghanistan map does includes some of the area in question, though clearly isn't not what you'd call well populated with ground content.

As opposed to full scale warfare that occurred in the region several times in the past, with thousands of casualties. Yes, it was a spat. A lot of planes in the air, but not very many kills. In the 1965 war, dozens of planes were shot down. Often quite similar to ones we have in DCS, if not the exact models. 

Yes, there was a big missile fight, but none of the aircraft involved are in DCS, nor will they be in the foreseeable future. Most of the tech that was flying there was top of the line stuff, and none of it was made in the US. Maybe you could make those modules half a century from now.

It’d be an interesting map to fly, especially if it extended south and included a part of the Arabian Sea. Then the naval aviation folks would have a place to play, too.

ED will eventually eliminate individual maps in favor of a Google Earth-type model. The Pakistani and Indian DCS players can hate on each other in Afghanistan until then.

Yes. But what if we prefer not to wait 20 years for ED’s Google Earth-type model to arrive?

That's it? ED just want the global Earth model? Come on. They should at least make an Earth-Moon system and allow us to play a Shuttle simulator in this day and age.

Yes it should also include the Chinese side! It'll have historic significance plus a place for Chinese planes and assets!

"Now" is not relevant as we don't have any assets or modules from "now" anyway. But yes, India-Pakistan would be a good map for the Cold War era all out wars in the region, especially from 1965 and 1971. As other were just limited scale engagements, not even wars. And 1947 didn't include any meaningful air operations.

There is still no Korea or Vietnam, massive many years long wars, with thousands of aircrafts shoot down. Because developers initially prioritize less relevant regions.

Probably will happen it the future.

We have the Mirage2000, Mig29A(coming), Mig21 on Indian side & F16, JF17 on Pakistani side. Also more Chinese assets coming from Deka.

Those things tend to happen once a 3rd party developer, possibly one from the region, takes an interest. ED themselves seem mostly interested in wars involving the US and Russia, with focus on the former.

I really hope they make this map at some point, it would be nice to fly sorties with these planes, also the Afghanistan map has most of Pakistan, wonder how much work would it be to populate that area with a few airbases
