The Carrier Ops one is excellent.  Really got me dialed in pretty quickly.

I went with 40 flaps and flew a dozen circuits around the carrier, slowly lowering my altitude and the speed, getting everything trimmed up...including a little bit of cowl flaps open and full open oil cooler.  I used 2400 RPM and whatever MP gets me about 93 kts.  In the turn it will slow to 90.  I used 10 deg nose-up trim, 6-deg right rudder and maybe 1/2 deg right aileron.  And then just be easy on the controls.  Minor corrections.  I made multiple passes over the end of the deck where I could have cut the throttle but just kept going around and around the pattern to get used to it.  Many of my passes were wide right on the rollout, close-in to the deck.  On those I could imagine getting the wave-off from the LSO.  Tomorrow I'll go to 50 flaps and with a fully clear deck give it a try.  In VR it looks like if you wave-off, you'll hit the island with your right wingtip.  I always offset just a bit to over the port (left) edge of the flight deck, just enough of a climb to get maybe 50-75 feet above planes parked forward.  I don't even change the throttle setting for the wave off, I just ease the nose up just a smidgen to get the altitude and then fly straight ahead for 15 seconds or so before turning back into the pattern to try again.  I only use 25-30 deg of bank.  I figure, once you cut throttle for the landing, you're committed, there's no waving off after that.

Now this sequence in the movie "Bridges at Toko-Ri" makes a lot more sense to me.  When do we get the F9F-2 Panther in DCS? 😀  Compare this.  It's like the same pattern we'll use with the F4U.  Same straight-deck Essex-class carriers (this was filmed on Oriskany CV-34 and Kearsarge CV-33, with updated islands and twin 5"-gun turrets removed).

With an undetermined timeline given all the stipulations he stated in the video.  He's not releasing a campaign without the right PTO assets - respect him for that.  BUT ... he's now waiting behind not just "when" but "if" the assets he needs are even included in the pack.

Happy to see the news.  I don't expect it'll see light of day for at least a year if not more.

@Reflected Good to hear about the Corsair campaign, should be awesome.

I have been flying the single missions, they are very good but for the ones in the Channel map, I wish you would have used the British skins instead, since there were some British Corsairs for the Royal Navy based in UK, it would made it more credible.

I tried to change the skins in he mission editor and could only change a few, the others for some reason when I fly the mission are still USA skins.

Which missions are these? I thought I used British ones on the Channel map

Under Single mission :

Sink the Tirpitz in Channel map

Bomber escort in Normandy map.

AH! Those used to have RN skins, but some new skins were added recently and for some reason they defaulted back to the US one. Talk about a PITA...I'm going to fix these and send to Mag 3.

Sorry, but I could not find any of these 2 missions.

Sink the Tirpitz is on the Kola map and the Bomber escort mission is for the P-47.

Sink the Tirpitz on the Kola map was made by me, this are missions that came with the Corsair, not the instant missions, just look for them under Missions-Corsair and there are 5 I think, 1 on Channel map, 1 on Normandy and 3 on Caucasus

@Reflected Reflected, you ever considered looking into Operation Musketeer with the French corsairs of 1956?  Pretty good campaign that took place over the Suez Canal with significant use of the French F-4Us doing a lot of air to ground stuff.

Might make for an interesting campaign since we have the Sanai map.  It would be a perfect fit.  Only thing I have not looked into is the AI assets needed for a campaign like that.  From what I have read, they were mostly Carrier born operations with some ground launched. Already some liveries out there for the French that are outstanding.  I was flying with one of them in my last video.

It would take some research for sure but might be worth your time.  I would buy it in a heartbeat if you pulled that one off.  Carrier born Corsair operation over the Suez Canal taking out ships and targets in the canal.  Be a cool one for sure.  Check it out.

@Reflected Here is another suggestion.  I was looking at the British use of Corsairs and there was some significant use in the North Atlantic when Germany took Norway.  Might be another option for the Kola Peninsula Map from a WW2 perspective.

They played a key role in providing air support to the attacks on the German Battleship Tirpitz and even participated in the bombing.  They also provided CAS for the fleet attacking German U-Boat and other ships in the North Atlantic during Operation Tungsten when they were attacking the battleship.  We do not have the German battleship Tirpitz; however you might be able to use an upcoming battleship asset from the Pacific when it releases.  Check out the website below.  OUTSTANDING free resources declassified from the Government of the WW2 German invasion of Norway.  A lot of good stuff for a campaign if interested, and at minimum, just a good read from the historical perspective. The other 2 websites are good info on the invasion and encounters they had with the allies.  Good reference material.
