Frayer Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) A NATO base, was included in ex-Yugo wars as well - this is a must. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerklje_ob_Krki_Airport Edited 19 hours ago by Frayer 1
Mig Fulcrum Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I ask for "LIPX Verona Villafranca" as it was very important airport during 1993-1999 operations and base for the 3rd Wing of the Italian Air Force. I know it is located on the "low fidelity zone" but i highly suggest you to consider it for the future, maybe even after EA. 1
Fanter Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) We'd humbly like to ask to see Csákvár Airfield(Hungary) being added to the map. We're even fine with with it being an inactive airport(just like Kutaisi Int. or Kobuleti Airport in the DCS: Caucasus map)! ALL INFOS/PICTURES: https://kameraaltal.blog.hu/2012/10/13/csakvar-repter Coordinates: 47°21'10.4"N 18°25'45.9"E Default role: Inactive / Reserve Airfield Historical context: In the 1990s, many Hungarian and former Warsaw Pact airfields were kept in reserve status — not officially closed but no longer maintained for active service. Csákvár fits perfectly into that historical pattern. 1991-2001: It was a strategic fallback airfield during the Yugoslav Wars (1991–1999), when Hungary maintained readiness along its southern borders. A potential NATO staging or logistics field in later years, as regional tensions and peacekeeping operations grew in the Balkans. It was a training site for light aircraft and reserve units, reflecting real use of small Eastern European airbases. A partially abandoned but recognizable military airfield, no longer in full service but still visible and usable for emergency landings, helicopter operations, or as a mission background. Possible future in-game use: Adds authenticity and realism to the outer map area. Can be featured in cutscenes or ambient missions (e.g., emergency landing site, secret meeting, rescue). Functions as a backup base for missions that take place near the map’s edge. Perfect as a VFR navigation point for low-level or reconnaissance flights. Ideal for aerobatic or cinematic flyovers, or practice. +It's our aerobatic display team's home airbase Edited 1 hour ago by Fanter typos fixed and background wiki link added 3

deathhoneybadger Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Hi, @OnReTech I personally would love to see some HAF Airfields, Especially Volos and Larissa which fall in the Medium to low detail area as well as Thessaloniki. Thank you for the consideration 2
Thirsty Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Just like how many others mentioned. Having Hungarian bases would be really amazing, and most likely the one and only oportunity we will ever have having any Hungarian AB options in DCS. Giving home to our beloved MiG-29 at Kecskemét AB in DCS would be something all Hungarians would wish for. (Just a few important ones in a quick list: Kecskemét, Taszár, Szolnok, Csákvár, Pápa,) 3

TASZAR Airbase was busy as a logistic hub receiving many transport aircraft. Also reconnaissance operations with USAF Predators operating from the base. KECSKEMET Airbase was doing daily CAP operations with MiG-29 aircraft. null Do you have any articles on Hungarian involvment? Condition: green

Potter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) @OnReTech Request for: Ancona Airport (Falconara Marittima - Raffaello Sanzio) Ancona served as a C-130 crucial logistical hub during humanitarian missions like the airlift to Sarajevo. No fighter squadron took off from there, however was a major staging and departure point for US and UN C-130 for many years during the conflict. It is a small but full of character airstrip, adjacent to an oil refinery with a beautiful mountain (Mount Conero) in its proximity. It would be of both great historical value, as well as beneficial for gameplay purposes, giving that the latest DCS module is indeed the C-130 Hercules. With Ancona airport serving as key hub for the glorious C130, I think adding this airport to the map should be be unmissable (Over the years it has also been used by Tornado squadrons, PAN -Frecce Tricolori-, Apache squadron etc) Bosnia Airlift Operation 1993 document (archive source at the bottom): Airport Location and Maps view Archive Images: (Please note, during the conflict the glass and steel structure present today, had not being built at the time - photo comparison below) (Please note the extreme close proximity to a major oil refinery in the above picture, making it a very interesting landing/departing point) Airport terminal / hub comparison 1990s Bosnia theatre operation and today (please note the absence of the new glass/steel terminal): Sources Bosnia Airlift Operation 1993 document source: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/404513557 Pictures sources: https://nara.getarchive.net/media/a-us-air-force-c-130-hercules-rolls-for-takeoff-from-ancona-airport-for-a-relief-a1ebaa https://nara.getarchive.net/media/a-us-air-force-c-130-hercules-taxis-down-the-ramp-at-falconar-airport-as-it-70eb57 https://picryl.com/media/a-us-air-force-c-130-hercules-lands-at-falconar-airport-after-returning-from-57c28 https://nara.getarchive.net/media/cargo-is-loaded-onto-an-usaf-c-130-hercules-at-the-port-city-of-ancona-italy-879222 https://nara.getarchive.net/media/a-french-c-130-from-ancona-italy-taxies-on-the-runway-at-sarajevo-airport-it-816259 If you will require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me Edited 5 hours ago by Potter 1
Apollofox Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Good news to have a Balkan map arriveing in DCS. Wish Timisoara AB and Caransebes AB from Romania to be included in the list of airfields that will be available on the map. Campia Truzii AB would also be perfect to have. Hope the developrs will model this airfileds. Edited 4 hours ago by Apollofox
SliderCDN Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I don't see Pula mentioned anywhere, yes I know it'll be included, but if anyone needs high detail reference material, I am available as I live there and am well connected to the aviation community, including some ex-military guys from the 90s war. Can't wait!

LordOrion Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) 10 minutes ago, skywalker22 said: Italy is no Balkan , although it surely would be amazing, I have No, it is not, but for ovbvious reasons it was the country that provided the most AFB bases for Operation Allied Forces in 1999. Modeling all Italian monuments and landscapes is out of scope (there are too many of them, and DCS is not MSFS ), but having all main Nato and non-Nato AFB in Italy seems to be logic, especially because this map is meant to recreate the 1999 war events. gazda090 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Hi OnReTech, can you implement the Lučko base (Zagreb), the base is home to a squadron of transport helicopters, and was used in the Homeland War 1991-1995. It would also be great to implement the aviation technical center in Velika Gorica, not far from Zagreb Airport, where various aircraft were maintained, including the MiG-21. It is still in operation today. Lučko base aviation technical center in Velika Gorica , Edited 1 hour ago by gazda090
Stratos Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I know is not on the detailed area, but adding Dobroslavtsi Air Base north of Sofia and maybe Sofia International airport will give us a base for Bulgarian AF, and gave the users another nation to play in hypothetical conflicts in the region. Fingers crossed. null 1 I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
admiki Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Banja Luka and Udbina were both used during ex-Yu wars. Also, a gravel strip near Cazin was, I believe, first airbase of Bosniak army and was used for airbridge between encircled 5th Korpus and Croatia.
Furiz Posted 58 minutes ago Posted 58 minutes ago Thought I re post this in wish list: Hey there are 2 hangars near Split Airport which were operational during the war for our Homeland, they were operational during Operation Allied Force as well, would love if you could model those too. https://www.balkanwarhistory.com/2017/06/airport-divulje-split-underground.html
