This seems to be coming up often so, I'll sticky it here:

We will not be discussing and showing more A-10C screen shots until early 2010.

While we certainly appreciate the interest in this project, we will not be starting the PR push until after the project is further along and an unannounced project has been released.

Thank you for your patience,

Matt

I heard from someone who heard from a guy I know that isn't his bro but thinks he is that may have overheard a conversation between two drunk former Spetsnaz Russian guys about some patches / stuff for Flaming Cliffs.

For me, it is clear that is a DCS: Flammig Cliffs module. All the hard work in FM is done for SU-25 and SU-25T. They are surely extending the system model and the clickable cockpit. Moreover, the work can be reused as foundation for A-10.

I hope it is this way, cause I no longer fly SU-25/SU-25T for I feel it "simpler" than KA-50.

How's that supposed to work? The A-10 project is already underway.

The "UP" will be released before the A10, so it is likely that the work made for DCS:FC is made in parallel with DCS:WH at least. And the former has more work done already in FC.

Anyway, it is just my guess.

yeah, probaly something to do with FC.

Eagle Dynamics Update – 03 May 2009

There are multiple projects ongoing at Eagle and I thought a brief status report may answer a lot of questions:

1- DCS: Black Shark Patch. The patch is in-work and we still hope to release it in the next month or two. In addition to fixing a few remaining show-stopper bugs, a lot of time is being used to re-record some of the training tracks that were broken as a result of patch changes. After that is all done, we need to take care of the patch localization.

2- DCS: Black Shark Localization. Aside from the Spanish version, all versions have been completed. However, the team is focused on correcting errors introduced when the French version was duplicated. The Spanish version is wrapping up localization and we hope to release it in the next month or two.

3- DCS: A-10C Warthog. Parts of the team are already focused on this project and more will be shifted to it once the Black Shark tasks are completed. Progress is good and we plan to release much more information about this come summer time.

4- Lock On: Flaming Cliffs. This franchise will see further development in 2009 now that Black Shark is wrapping up. Once details are hammered out, we will be able to provide more information.

Well, you can cross off 1 and 2 on that list.

So you think there is a secret No 5 - project, that has nothing to do with either DCS:A-10 nor LO:FC?

Now that is definitely some wild speculation.

Yeah, I like it. :D

I mean it's not like it would take more than 2 sec to slap a 6dof clickable pit, all sorts of systems and other stuff into all the aircraft in FC, not to mention a single one :D

Nah, we don't want to rush things. Take your time - like 5 seconds per aircraft. And don't forget: You can use it as basis for A-10! :D

5 seconds is a bit estrssing, lets say 10 :D

And well, I tought that the main reason for the DCS series was reusability and ease of development, along with interoperability.

Maybe I am wrong... or not and someone is trying to tangle :P

Or maybe we'll have Mi-28 Havok, or F/A18, ore something else :D

LockOn Flaming Cliffs Update/Patch

5- Lock On: Flaming Cliffs. As mentioned in the last update, we are working on a further evolution of this product line. However, until the software is essentially done, we will not be discussing this in any detail. Sorry.

Personally I am of the opinion that nothing fundamental will change/be brought to Flaming Cliffs with the Update/Patch, ie Clickable Pits/New Airframe/More AFM etc etc.

Would in all probability be an attempt to rectify/fix all/majority of the Fundamental Ball-Busting Flaws/*exploits* that currently plague the SIM. By addressing those issues alone would ensure a revival of notable proportions.

Right. DCS and LO/FC are two different, separate products - one is a high-fidelity simulator, the other is a survey sim.

The DCS series was -not- made for interoperability with LO. If that happens, consider it a nice touch, and that's all.

DCS was made to help ease development of future high fidelity simulations, but the DCS series itself continues to evolve. It isn't a platform that's done, finished, and standing still.

My wild guess is that besides fixing the exploits we will get some of the stuff that was half baked but never finished for the initial realease. maybe Su-29 and Mig-29K. But thats just speculations. :D
