Lets not mention that my PC is struggling with existing models - please NO ADDITIONAL polys, no need for overdoing it :)

Just make >20 MP flawless, dedi server and tweak AI so it will be able to find alternative routes and use some sense. No more search radar on Vulcan and Shilka and similar silliness :)

Fix damage models for ships, vehicles and bunkers, so you cannot sink Kuznecov with Vikhrs or RBK's, and SEAD missile should hit antennae, not center of gravity, anti-RWY boms should make longer lasting damage --- lets make some use out of all those beautiful bombs :)

And no need for highly detailed vehicles - I don't care about whether nuts and bolts and handles are visible or not :)

 

Maybe you should think to upgrade your computer :)

The problem with those modern aircraft is not only getting the information.

 

Let's take as an example the Su-35 you asked for. Russia operates only 12 early models, and the BM were only ordered this year and are to be delivered between 2011 and 2015. How do you think ED could model that in detail?

 

And, even after they are operating, much of the systems will still be classified.

 

I think we should focus on present - Su-27, MiG-29, Su-25 and so on. These aircraft are operational, and lots of pilots have flew on them. You have much more opinions and advices regarding to flight behaviour, and more access to information about systems and etc., but still lots of things about these aircraft are still classified.

 

I think the best option would be the upgraded versions of these aircraft (if there is enought non-secret information to make a DCS level aircraft, of course). Su-27SM, MiG-29SMT, Su-25SM... That would be just sweet.

 

But it's just a dream, anyway :D

Wow, I really got attacked for that. I'm sorry, but I'm just curious! I got a little worried with that FAQ response, sooooo... forgive me? All I wanted to know was what would be required to put the models back in, not if they would be able to!

 

Anyway, please stop asking for more, people. We've got what we need and they're improving an existing game, not making a new one. As far as I can tell, this is going to feel very clean and new as it stands right now, so I'd just watch what you say.

the thing is ED worked hard and made a really nice move fowards LO community and meanwhile the addon isn't finished yet , people ask more and more and put the pression on ED team , i think it's not very nice

for example myself i dreamt about a DCS (georgian) map conversion to FC and .. what we get new map for almost a neverending player experience , new interface , servers support , new units and .. cherry on the cake a new SU-25 model .. and for 15$ not 15E 15$ man isn't it a great thing from ED .. Yes, indeed! People with more money should enjoy more then people with less, regardless that all of them paid the same amount for the same product.

ED makes money out of selling the sim to high-end users only. All 10 of you :P

I find that 15 bucks is pretty reasonable considering this is the first patch in several years and it allows multiplayer compatibility with Black Shark. Not to mention the terrain, mission editor, and the standard list of patch fixes and tweaks. If anything the only negatives to this whole patch is that it took so long to get here, and for the initial release it will only be available online (which is a negative for those who don't like buy stuff digitally).

Hello mate :) Welcome to our forum. Take it easy as a heavy joke. We're all good here ;). Su-35 would be nice to get in a sim but not in high-fidelity sim like DCS where every part of the aircraft, avionic, weapons systems, etc. must work exacly as in real world. We won't get F-22 for a same reason - most of data is a secret. This can happen only in arcade games like HAWX. By the way I would rather want Vietnam era aircraft with highly advanced flight model, exact working weapon system and primitive avionics than those fancy cyber era planes. Many people here would agree it could be a much more fun to fly such things where pilot/player is more important and both sides have almost equal chances to win.

Edit: Oh, it would also be insanely cool if you could put together a complete "Eagle Dynamics Pack" that includes the original FC (patched to 1.12,) FC 2.0 and Black Shark, maybe in a good-looking package with hardcopy manuals included (aaand maybe even a A2-ish format of the entire map area (to have on the wall above my screen) with all airfields maked out.. I sure know I'd dish out pretty much whatever you asked for it!

I think it is exceedingly reasonable given the amount of work that goes into a patch.

 

Ok, $15 is quite a bit less than one developer's time. A senior developer gets many times this and when you add in the overhead of project management, holiday pay, sick pay, facilities, workstations, licenses etc.

 

So lets assume the real cost to develop a patch is more like $200/hour when you factor in multiple developers and the infrastructure required to support them. That means around 100 people have to buy the patch for each day ED spends working on it. A month of work and two thousand people have to buy the product in order for ED to break even. Given the community is so small there just aren't that many buyers to cover the cost.

 

While there are many who might think USD $14.99 is too much for an upgrade I say that it is very reasonable once you start working out the development costs and the effort involved.

Good question, Will UBI and ED come to some sort of arrangement that will see a Final all-in-one Lock ON product made available? Hopefully it can be arranged beforehand, unlike the Lock On Gold Debacle.

 

I don't need it, but I'll buy it, is it too late for such a product?
