Ice Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 My vote goes for the pilots head movement with Track ir. The realism with this new feature is just phenominal! Mustang and I had a supurb BVR missions online last night we took turns at lead and flew mainly at maintained a CAP of around 15,000 feet. Forming up after each engagement. (22 kills for just 4 losses) It was just amazing to see when forming up and looking over my shoulder at Mustang his head looking straight down the hud then looking left and lining up his position off my starbord wing. looking straight at me head moving in perfect unisen with his track ir. Fantastic job Eagle Dynamics !!!
KuostA Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 wait, so now the little pilot you see sitting in the cockpit when viewing aircraft externaly actually MOVES his head in real time and relevant to the position of your TrackIR now?? That IS simply awesome. I take it that this feature only works with TrackIR though, correct?
Ice Posted April 15, 2005 Author Posted April 15, 2005 I'm not sure it might work for key panning. never tried.
169th_Moose Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 My vote besides the above, is able to add buildings, and such...oh also that the su27 now is able to AoG :D
GGTharos Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Yes, it works with key panning, and it works with padlock, too. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Mustang Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 a couple more neat little touches i've seen so far, the nav lights illuminating the ground beneth them and the general enviromental lighting effects, and those clouds of dust that your jet leaves at low level =) i'm discovering new stuff still, nice work
SUBS17 Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Trak IR, dam I gotta get me one of those. Man thats a great discovery Ice, to think I thought it was good in 1.02 with just the player. My favourite features are the Autum season and Winter terrain. Also the spining turbines as well as in a mission the other night I got hit by AAA and lost an engine. I shut it down and the smoke stopped leaving a damaged engine and exhaust and the compressor stopped spining. Also its nice that now at least one aircraft has blinkng nav lights. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
LawnDart Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I really like the white smoke as well as the improved flight models! Guest Cali Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 The head movment is just OUTSTANDING! it is small but it adds in realism. Looking forward to 1.2 coming out.
GGTharos Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 One of 1.2's greatest new secret features are playable kittens. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
JG27_Arklight Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 The pilots head moving with TrackIR was present before 1.1. ;) I remember noticing that with the original (patched) Lock-On install. I moved my head with TrackIR then went to external view, sure enough, the pilot figure was looking in the same direction as I was before I switched views. I always thought that was a nice little feature. Guest ruggbutt Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 It moves in real time now, it didn't before.
JG27_Arklight Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 It moves in real time now, it didn't before. Really? I could have swore I saw one of my wingmen in MP watch me pull up next to him. Either way, it certainly is a nice little touch. Only in horizontal axis though. ;) For vertical we should to rework the 3D model of the pilot. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. GGTharos Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Would you be able to fix the refuelling booms/probes for MP as well? ... it seems to be no different than the pilot's head motion in terms of complexity, I think, but of course I an easily be wrong. Also, can we get rid of autopilot refuelling for F-15 and A-10? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Jester_159th Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I'm still at the stage of being blown away with the advanced physics model of the SU-25T. Getting a landing slightly wrong and blowing a single tyre, followed by a skid that feels more realistic than anything I've experienced in a flight sim before....That type of thing is something I've never seen in any other flight sim. I would love to see this model applied to the other aircraft (if not in future add ons perhaps in a sequel?)
ZoomBoy27 Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I'd say it'd have to be the SEAD capabilities added to the Su-25T. Load the Fantasmagoria, AR missiles and You've got a whole new type of mission that can be run by a flyable. Also, can we get rid of autopilot refuelling for F-15 and A-10? I agree with the refueling boom/probes, cause once we get close enough to the thing...we see them anyway. Why can't we see them from the start? At least can you guys look into it.
Andrew_McP Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 The best feature of 1.1 is the fact that it exists at all. A close second is the AFM, which makes all the other tweaks looks pretty insignificant in comparison. The trouble with the AFM though is that the more you fly the 25/25T, the less you enjoy flying the non-AFM aircraft. And it hurts me to leave my Su-27 on the tarmac to go fly a tank instead. Still, having chute-retarded bombs to hang on the 27 *almost* makes up for the lack of AFM. Hunting ground targets at 50m/mach1 may not be particularly sensible, but it's fun :-) Andrew McP
