Me neither. The best indicator I've seen is that there was significant effort being expended on the details of the F18 within the confines of LOMAC. It looked better and more detailed than some of the flyables did lol...

 

Fun to discuss "what it meant" at the time, but that's a helluva long ways off from properly flying the damn thing in DCS

i would like the F/A-18 as i was an very active jane`s F/A-18 simulator flyer but i would like to have the SU-30 not because im Venezuelan and we have them blah blah blah, but because is an advanced A-A airplane and A- G too !!!. Would be cool to have somewhat like a DCS F/A featuring the F/A-18 (or F-15E) and the SU-30.

We need a Russian jet, I'm voting for the Su-27 or 33. Heck, I'd even take the MiG 29, but it should alternate between US and RU airframes to keep it even and enjoyable..

Since it appears that ED collaborates with military on some scale to generate these sims, I would guess you could eliminate from the list of possible aircraft or helos to be developed next a slew of vehicles that aren't a significant part of any countries military and not likely to have any practical use. Therefore, I would put money on the Hornet. 1: not being phased out anytime soon, fairly ubiquitous around the world, Dual role aircraft, Carrier and Land based ops.

I never saw a thread where ED said they were going to model the F-18 as a flyable aircraft.

So I pass the hot potatoe to him :D Anyway it is said that USN aircraft manuals are more difficult to get than USAF aircraft manuals. It seems relationship with USAF is far better compared with the Navy.

What about DCS: AH-64D Apache? I love this helicopter..It is so emblematic..Much more popular and known than the Ka-50 Blackshark in the world.

 

Don't understand why DCS didn't work on the Apache before tha Ka-50...Is it because all the programmers are from Eastern Europe? Just kidding !

Because no military paid for an AH-64 sim. And FYI, the 64D is rather unlikely. If there is an apache, it will be the A.

I would like to know how a military justified contracting a Black Shark sim for a wiki reported 15 units produced in the world and 10 Ka52 through 2006.

BS was based on a military contract? I thought it was said or implied that this was a choice made my developers due to... typical motivations- access to info, and some TV show that is or was wildly popular in RU..

IMO its not about usage.. Its the systems each aircraft uses that gives restrictions.

I love the delta wings :thumbup:. J-35 really looks like a spaceship. And also considering it was made in the 60's..

Still, I would like something with more modern systems for DCS..what about the Gripen 39C?

for the people who wants F18E,they should try the VRS F18E for fsx and wait for the TACPAC for air to air and air to ground combat sim immersive..
