When i have see the title of your post i have imagine that it will be officially announced :x

 

Essential ingredients for making DCS: F/A-18E Super Hornet:

1) EDGE

2) Nevada

3) F/A-18E Super Hornet

4) Carrier Operations

5) Dynamic Campaign

6) Multitasking

7) DirectX 11

Edge its sure we already see several screenshots.

Nevada same

Multitasking too EDGE will integrate it same thing for DX 11

Carrier Ops technically we already have with the SU-33 but its not hyper realistic and its not an hardcore aircraft...

And the Super Hornet will be perfect cause its a good aircraft and multirole !

And the best will be the F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornet, single AND dual seat !!!

Anyway when the Single Seat will be done its will be easy to create the dual seat variant for ED.

And it can be only the Super Hornet Mk1 the other upgrade use classified data.

And yes is easy, that just take time, its just adding second cockpit its not the biggest challenge of the universe or of the creation of an aircraft...

Create the aircraft is long and hard yes of course but i'm not sure that adding cockpit will be hard for people who can create a full realistic hardcore simulator...

The F/A-18 is for both ground and air attacks. Isn't the eagle for air attacks only ? And fa18 is more modern.

 

F-15c is only air

F-15E cant be more multirole than that

But F-15E with possibility to be two or to use it alone will be really nice too, only bad thing can be the missing carrier OPS

Maybe the F-16 its a nice aircraft but i prefer F-15 and F-18

 

For the Hornet the C/D variant will be a stupid choice when we see that the E/F Mk 1 are better without using more classified data but anyways both still nice !

And nice video for the Silent Eagle, i will buy one of them :D

Don't forget that the Hornet too will have a stealth upgrade like the SE, maybe better !

And for the moment the newest aircraft is the F-35 (the first are now in service) its a carrier's aircraft multirole, like the Super Hornet...

Nevada will not be free, its not will be 100% associate with the next DCS aircraft, we can keep the Georgia with the Black Sea for carrier OPS and just flight without carrier with the Hornet like Swiss...

No one talk about carrier OPS WITH Nevada map...

@bluepilot76 I want to see Falcon too but not now, the last hardcore sim before DCS is Falcon 4.0 AF and open/free falcon...The Falcon can wait a little i think and if ED give us an good SDK a lot of people will try to import the F-16 from Open/Free Falcon and create the the more realistic F-16 than we can get from fan work, that will be long and hard but if anyone who know coding and who want the Falcon do it we maybe will have a Falcon faster and maybe ED will correct it for give us a more realistic and advanced Falcon...

And same thing for A10A, SU-25/25T Hardcore and AH-64 project and many more other...

DCS : MI-24 Hind

 

Hello heli pilots !

 

I'm wondering what you think about that marvelous attack helicopter for next DCS module about helicopter. I know main part of votes is for the Apache, but once again, it's a US heli, and last DCS was American Bomber..

 

I think the Hind has a much more important history than the Apache,it's a kind of symbol of ex CCCP and Cold War.

 

Beautiful, powerful, the Hind is very versatile, from troop transport to infantry support.. Moreover, it already has a very realistic and accurate 3D model in DCS, I know it's just a little part, it miss systems etc.. but isn't what you did for the Mustang ?

 

I really hope Flying Legends and Eagle Dynamics have that idea in their " to do list "

In fact i wonder see that :

DCS KA-50

DCS A10C

DCS P51

DCS (next US Aircraft)

DCS AH-64 + A10A + SU-25+25T + KA-52 + Next Flying Legend = enemy equivalent of the Mustang or Mig-21/F-14 Tomcat

DCS MI-24 + Next DCS hardcore aircraft Russian equivalent to the next next aircraft :

F-16 = Mig 29, F-15 = Su-27/30 F-18 = Su-33

 

But if ED create an SDK a lot of fan can begin to create new aircraft that ED can correct after for obtain realistic simulator and come from fan quality to professional quality ! a lof of work will be done and ED can finally give us more aircraft and faster !

And i think we maybe will have too ground unit like tank and other vehicle that we can directly driving and with fan support possibility to have tanker, AWACS and transport aircraft !

Imagine the possibility to have all this 9/10 aircraft in 2/3 years !!!

Well, I'd imagine that a lot of the Apache's technology is still classified, while the Hind has compared to the Apache almost nil technology ;) (being also older).

Being therefore less complex to model, the Hind would be the logical choice. :thumbup:

 

However: both helicopters need a pilot and a WSO, and that would also add the need for a really cool A.I. - otherwise you'd have Mr. EagleEye as WSO or Mr. SimpleFlightModel as pilot - both not cool.

Teamworking in a cockpit with AI? I can't imagine that working really well.

Guess that is one reason ED stays with the single-seated aircrafts ;)

 

About the "Hind" having a more important history ... well, the Apache (and the British modified version) is heavily used by both the American and British forces and was (and still is) flown in Iraq and Afghanistan extensively.

I know, but the MI-24 is just the Symbol of ex USSR .. the Apache is not the US one.. it was the Huey, my favorite heli, but absolutely no chance to hope to see it in DCS, Vietnam Era wasn't Maverick, Vikhr and Hellfire era..

And I'm a russian stuff enthusiast, all that complex engineering, heavy things from the 80's.. You must admit russian stuffs are exceptionnal, wheras US ACFT are more conventional and use less " superlatives ".. The Russian, with their giant submarines, AN-225 or even MI-26 just need respect ..

 

Anyway I don't know much about the MI-24 Task repartition, does the WSO do everything conscerning weapons ? Or just the gun ?

 

In some cool and fun games like BF2, the gunner only controlled gun and missiles, Pilot the rockets.

 

I'm feared that if 3'rd party guys start to develop, the quality level of DCS will Quickly decrease.. The only solution would be that, before a release of a 3'rd party ACFT, DCS would check and accept the file.. that would take too much time.

 

If they could release 2 ACFT a year, that would be genius. I personally hoping for MI-24, and Mirage 2000 for next Aicrafts... There aren't only American or Russian fighter you know.. The actual Rafale ( yes I'm French ! ) is just one of the best, if not the best.

Have you ever tried to fix someone else's work? As a modder I can tell you it's a nightmare and would almost takes as much time (if not more) to do the work from scratch yourself! :P
