Well the thing about hype is that people start building things in their head that they think will be in the game only to be pissed off in the end.

But it's my opinion that a Naval Aircraft would be more appealing to a broader audience and generate more interest and in turn more Daddy WarBuck$ for ED/TFC.

 

Don't agree.Nice Idea that people love carrier opperations, but whats the purpose of it in the game. Boom, your off the carier in a couple of seconds and then you land back on it. In between, there is nothing you do that airforce jets don't do as well..

 

I read about someone wanting the F22 Raptor. Not gonna happen. To secret still and it is so expensive, that the US does't even use them overseas. Don;t blame them though... they can buy litte less then 10 other jets for one F22. PLus personaly, I don't like glass cockpits. I thought it was more beautifull to have the analog avionics.

It opens up a lot of options for mission building. E.g., you can build a campaign where you first have to establish a landing zone for ground forces to land on, asf.

 

I for one wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this.

Well that's nice but FC being an expansion for LOMAC does that mean in order to play FC3 I'll have to buy LOMAC (again, I lost it), FC2 and then FC3 ? Or will it be released as a standalone ?

Good question, I think that if you own FC2 you should be fine with FC3 installation. I don´t know whether ED is again offering the upgrade and standalone version as for BS2 or if they are using the same sheme as they used for FC2 (FC1.1 needed)...that would be interesting to know

My guess would be that LOMAC will be required, with FC2 not being required. FC1 installs into LOMAC so a running copy of FC1 would be fine as well. I don't know this for sure though, but that's my educated guess, assuming that nothing has changed on the legal front.

Yes, because anti-shipping, CAS, SEAD, A2A, escort, and everything in between is just boring. Why not do an F-15E instead? Oh yeah...same thing. F-16? Same thing. F-35? Same thing. F-14? Same thing...except more aircraft falling apart for no reason other than its an F-14. So lets make them do an Su-33! Oh yeah....same thing.

 

How about a B-1R study sim instead? Its relatively the same thing, but hey...4 ppl and more bombs!

If we're going to get a DCS Russian ground attack aircraft, why not give us a Su-34 or at least a Su-24? I'm tired of flying slow. Hell, the Su-34 is the next best thing to an F-15E (IMO). And even the Su-24 would be an awesome, unique, fun addition. With the Su-25 though- between FC and DCS A-10, the Su-25 gives me the feeeling of "been there, done that". We have a low, slow, heavily armed tank killer DCS aircraft already, and we've even played with low fidelity Su-25s already, so what is the point of a DCS module on the Su-25? It would be better to give us something more unique.

Speed isn't everything. This aircraft obviously isn't for you. I've been flying it for 4 years, I don't fly anything else. And love it way better than the A10 and way faster might I point out. Would be nice to fly it with more realism and full functionality. Thing with su24 and su34 is there both 2 crew aircraft, it would never work. People play flight sims not weapons control sims.

Everyone would want to fly there would be no weapons controllers, plus the su25tm carries all the same weapons as the 24-34 and can equip the Russian spear pod to engage air to air with r77, not mention its improved avionics and navigation. It's a no brainer for me I love it.

Correct. It is also "not for" the vast majority of people I've talked to. Put up a well-worded poll (such as,"How would you feel about DCS: Su-25 following DCS: Next"- a) Very excited, b) Somewhat excited, c) Neutral, d) Disappointed, e) Very disappointed) and I think you'll see what I mean. I could be wrong, but I think most folks have had enough with low and slow, single-seat tank killers- though I'm sure the community will be a bit more receptive once we have a multirole fighter in our hands.

Which is your opinion based on what? I know quite a few folks who, rather than be turned off by two-seaters, would be VERY, VERY excited. In fact, I THINK they out number the folks like you who would be turned off by a two-seater. Keep in mind that ED has introduced active pause, which will allow two-seaters to be easily flown in single player. Also, the side-by-side configuration of the Su-24 and Su-34 would allow you to look over at the other seat's controls very easily. Furthermore, ED could even implement some kind of AI co-pilot, if necessary.

 

And no, the Su-25 is slow. Maybe a hundred knots faster than the A-10, maybe, but true fighter-bombers fly a hundred knots faster than that, and can get massive boosts of power with afterburner for tight turns/missile evasion/supersonic flight/fast climb/etc.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I do believe that I am speaking a viewpoint held by the majority- a) most folks don't want the Su-25, b) At least a very large percentage of the community would be excited by a two seat aircraft.
