Looking at the number of Super Hornet votes, do you think they would still consider doing an F-14 Tomcat sim? IMHO, it is a much more interesting plane, and looks better too! It is a piece of history and would fit perfectly for the next sim.... I would sell my soul for a good F-14 simulator, flying the F-14 in FSX just doesn't quite cut it. (Sorry if this is a topic change but I had to ask)

I think Superbug and systems are too new and classified. F-22 also.

We will get earlier the Tomcat-(X) -any version- or the Bug-C. I guess.

"When" ED is prepared to tell you, and the "how" is through ED making the relevant announcement. Unfortunately I don't know exactly when this "when" will be, so patience is the virtue I guess.

according to official announcements. A question which have been asked quite often, but never really been answered, is whether we can expect an official announcement according to a possibly 2 Seater Module. I do not want to say anythings about former announcements. I know that plans had changed, but I really would like to know by ED whether we can expect a 2 Seater one day at all. Until today this question has never been answered by any of the official ED Members...any Ideas about that?

I love the C variant of the hornet, but the Super Hornet mk1 don't really have classified data, and the A10C are newer than the Super Hornet, if ED follow your think its not a problem if the next aircraft was an Hornet or the Falcon, but if ED do, i hope the next aircraft not will be the Eagle cause the C/D are only a fighter, multirole are better, Hornet or Strike Eagle F-15E, possibility to SEAD, CAS, ground strike and also air combat will be nice, and the Hornet can give us two nice thing, carrier OPS and high alpha <3 !!!

Anyways for the hornet the C/D have the maneuverability advantage and the E/F have the avionic advantage, anyway i wonder see the C/D or both and my favorite aircraft still the hornet but i wonder see too the F-15E.

Sadly it can't be the Tomcat cause its not a fixed wing and i thing its for make us know that it can't be the tomcat that ED have said to us that the next will be a modern fixed wing fighter.

And of course the next can't be the Raptor (anyways this aircraft in real have a lot of problems :megalol: the T-50 and the YF-23 are better :D) but it can be adding as AI aircraft like many other.

Anyways we will all be surprised when ED will announced that the next aircraft will be the F-104 Starfighter or the F-4 Phantom :megalol:

If I remember well, fixed wing is for a plane(even if the F-14,b-1b, f-111wings can be swep back) and rototary wings for helicopters

F-14 and F-111 also fixed wing planes.

Have fixed wings. (All the time) In every moments :D

Correct.

Wing Geometry (straight, swept, variable, delta) differ between airframes - they are however still classified as 'Fixed Wing'.

Ok sorry for mistake thanks for information, its a good new, it can maybe be the Tomcat :p

But the F-15 its not a fixed wing

he have the new technology, IFWRS in flight wing removing system xD (really nice pilot)

Finally ED just announced that it will be an aircraft and not an heli, do its really a necessarily information when we know that we talk about the next "aircraft" and that its a "jet fighter" ?

I wonder see the B1 !!! the best modern bomber with the coolest look ever, but its not a fighter...

To be precise, helicopters are aircraft. "Aircraft" is any machine that flies in the air - including aeroplanes, helicopters, gyrocopters, balloons, ornithopters, dirigibles and so on. :)

Technically, yes, an AIM-9 Sidewinder is an aircraft. (Though perhaps not the most fun one to simulate as a "DCS" style product, at least not on the consumer market. :) )

Though of course it isn't what we colloquially mean by "aircraft" in regular speech. My point was mainly that, for example, the Black Shark is an aircraft in just the same way the A-10 is. :)

How can you say that? DCS AIM-9 would revolve around blowing aircraft up all the time. Its the perfect game for those with a short attention span.

So, finally we can see DCS Saturn V and DCS Buran ?

Imagine dogfight Buran vs Discovery !

STS Discovery, Houston, enemy space shuttle just now have take off and will be in space orbit in 7 minute, interception with you calculated in 1h35 min at FL 864 heading 126 speed mach 27, clear for launching fox 4 missile. :D

With the jet engine and the missile capability the Buran will be the perfect fighter aircraft xD

Or maybe DCS Lun Strike Ekranoplane ?

But Buran and Ekranoplane are not US :/

More seriously, i don't think it can be the Tomcat cause its too old but it will be nice, the best choice F/A-18C/D Hornet and F-15E Strike Eagle.

The Falcon will not be a nice choice cause after DCS the more realistic and advanced hardcore simulator still Falcon 4 and the open source variant, and due to fact that Seven G will coming with the Hornet, the next can maybe be the F-15E but the real military variant of DCS show an Hornet C a lot of time, finally...who know...

Haha the funny version of Orbiter Space Simulator !

If the official website of The Battle Simulator :

Currently nine flyable aircraft (A-10A, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-25T, Su-33, Ka-50) with more under development (F-16, F/A-18).

I wonder see the F/A-18C as next DCS aircraft and the F-16 as new FC3 aircraft.

There won't be new additions to FC3 as far as flyable aircraft go AFAIK.

Maybe not maybe yes, nits not cause we don't have any announcement that we don't will have...

But if its sure that will be sad cause flyable FC aircraft are not hard to make compare to DCS...

And hope make life :D

They can't add content.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

So, finally we can see DCS Saturn V and DCS Buran ?

Well...

Q: How is the P-51 supposed to fit into DCS? This makes no sense to me.

A: DCS is an open simulation environment, not confined to any one era, level of fidelity, or 1st party development. In the future ED and 3rd parties may add all sorts of different units ranging from gliders to X-51s.

...so basically, yes. I wouldn't rate it as likely, but yes - if it flies, it might come in DCS. If it doesn't fly, it might also come in DCS including tanks, ships etcetera. DCS is an open simulation environment and the technology can handle more than "just" aeroplanes and helicopters. :)

As for when we would see X, Y or Z thing turn up as a product, that's a completely different question and there is no answer to it right now.

But Buran and Ekranoplane are not US :/

Read the FAQ quote closely. ED's next project for DCS, not counting the Mustang, may be american - but that does not mean there aren't other things in development either at ED or at 3rd parties.

More seriously, i don't think it can be the Tomcat cause its too old but it will be nice, the best choice F/A-18C/D Hornet and F-15E Strike Eagle.

Age is irrelevant. Again see the FAQ quote. :)

And besides, the F-14 isn't older than the P-51D, now is it? :D

I guess the real question is if we are going to see a two seat aircraft or not. I wish that we had a little more information to go on though.

Its nice to see that the tomcat is still in the running though! :) Just have to wait and see (goes back to flying my A-10).
