Asp Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Where is the static pressure port(s) located on the DCS A-10C? I do not see it referred in the FM but there is a Baro altimeter. Asp [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Whippler Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 About the TAD page, is there a quide to it and all it's fnctions. Is it possible to make the plane turn and the map would stay north up all the time?
nomdeplume Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 About the TAD page, is there a quide to it and all it's functions. The section on the TAD in the flight manual, starting on page 291, is pretty comprehensive. Is there something you feel is missing? Is it possible to make the plane turn and the map would stay north up all the time? The EXP1 and EXP2 modes are north-oriented however they're centered on a fixed location rather than your own airplane. Useful to place it over a target area to aid with orientation. Unfortunately in beta3 your own aircraft's icon isn't displayed on the map in EXP mode, which I think/hope is a bug. You can work around this somewhat by selecting CURS OWN or similar so you get the dotted line from your plane's position to the cursor or hooked object.

rddaos Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 When I start a mission in the air, the throttle and control stick work fine. Everything works fine. But when I start a mission on the ground, only the elevator works. In other words, when I start a mission on the ground, I can i advance the throttle on my joystick, but the throttle in the cockpit doesnt budge. I can also apply ailerons with my joystick, but the control stick in the cockpit doesnt move - it only moves correctly when I'm applying elevator. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Watch the producer's note on startup, read the manual section about startup or do the startup training, whichever fits you best. At ramp start your throttles are set to OFF. Setting them to IDLE is the part of the engines start procedure. LAlt+Home sets left throttle to IDLE, LCtrl+Home does it for the right throttle. Before moving any throttle to IDLE, be sure that APU is started, electric battery and inverter are ON (and STBY respectively), and fuel pumps are ON. Stick can not move in certain directions without hydraulics. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Наследство их из рода в роды Ярмо с гремушками да бич.

Arguss Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Hey :) One question. When calling inbound to an ATC they give you a direction and distance. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to measure that distance? Something like a stopwatch, only with distance instead of time, that I can start when i get the responce from the ATC. just something that shows me how far I have flown from my current possition. If im at an airfield without ILS(that can kick in to show me when i have flown long enough) how can I then know when to turn in towards the runway if its by night or bad visibility? Thanks

Laud Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I think it depends on altitude, temp and humidity wether this vapor becomes visual or not. And no, that is not modelled. I don't think it is planned for the near future, as we currently got a sub-sonic aircraft and there are more important things to be done that are not pure eyecandy. However, for a possible fighter-module of DCS it would be a nice little feature. Limelime Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Ok, thanks, but in dcs a10, when the F15 or an other aircraft pass the sound barrier, the sound not enough, that it is visible will be cool. Maybe in the final release?
walrus Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 When starting from ramp, my throttles are "locked" until I use the keyboard command (home+ralt/rctrl) to start the engines - which works okay but it seems like being able to just move the throttles up to idle would be preferable. In all the videos and guides I've seen people seem to have no trouble moving their throttles, is there a setting I'm missing?
Laud Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 As long as you're not using the TM Warthog you have to switch the engines from the OFF to the IDLE-Position. The Warthog has some kind of an obstacle you have to lift the throttle-levers above to ignite/switch off the engines. If you could do this with a X-52 throttle for example, you could easily turn off your engines in-flight accidently. That's why you need extra key-commands for that.
