Eggcake Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) Ok first thing I noticed is you don't even start at Vaziani :> Damn those close lying airports :D Oh god, embarassing. Edit: And yeah, it works on the correct airport. Even on the runway :> Edited June 14, 2011 by Eggcake

Eggcake Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) To get this right: you can only rearm/resupply at the base you started? I flew a MP mission today. The target area was 80nm from our homeplate. After the air defenses were destroyed, we wanted to rearm and landed at a base near the target area (some 40nm away and there were some friendly units on it) and couldn't rearm. It was pretty frustrating: there was ONE SAM left, both of us had 6 GBU-12s but no mavs left ... :S So just at homeplate, is it the mission designers decision and if so, is there any way to tell whether you can rearm or not? Alternatively, draw the launches until SAM is out of missiles and then engage. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Eggcake Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) That would have been an option, true! Thing is, I was also pretty much out of chaffs...wanted to play it safe :) But next time, I will give it a try! Shadowplay Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hi, first time here. Just purchased the game. I've done the first few tutorials. How in the hell am I supposed to remember the pre-flight checklist? Just keep repeating the process? Also, is there a way to zoom in on certain instruments? Thanks

Ghanja Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I printed it out and from there on I just kept doing it on and on. Sometimes when time was short I just loaded up a ramp mission and went as far as I would get ready to roll - practise makes perfect :-) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] .:: My System ::. .:: My Paintings ::.

Shadowplay Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Didn't want to start a thread on this but... Am I missing something? I'm trying to do the landing tutorial, which I understand can take some time to get used to, and I always have a hard time lining up for final approach. I'm almost always coming in from an angle. I understand the box pattern concept but is there supposed to be some guidance, either from ILS or the Tower, on when to make your turns for downwind, cross and final? Usually I just try to do a VFR and end up crashing because I haven't figured out the correct glide slope/speed mix yet. Thanks
Laud Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 No, in VFR there is nothing supposed to be, even though you may use TACAN where it is available. But for that you would need to pre-plan your turn-points and measure the needed TACAN radials and distances for those (in the ME). Just keep practicing! That's the only way to get a feeling for your aircraft (turn-radius at certain speeds, desired airbrake settings for the base and final, etc.). upupandaway Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 So, maybe this has been asked before - I´m pretty sure it has - I´ll try to make it brief: If DCS: A-10C & Ka-50 are supposed to get a compatability patch at some point in the future this would have to mean that in order to achieve this, Ka-50 would have to get the new terrain / editor features etc. from A-10C. Otherwise MP wouldn´t really make sense / function at all as far as I can see... Does this now mean, that the Ka-50 and it´s basic simulation is going to be somehow "ported" into the A-10C engine / environment or will there just be another form of merging the two (or other future modules)? I´m really curious about the very basic nature of this process. At least Ka-50 would be so much more appealing with A-10C´s graphics... :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 As I understand it BS will be brought up to Warthog standard (ie use the same version of the simulation engine) as to what features, besides that, are also included, I don't know. ED Team Olgerd Posted June 26, 2011 ED Team Posted June 26, 2011 Back a bit ago the "Quick Look" coolie hat up/down long presses were showing DSMS/PROF pages on both MFCDs and MSG for the two directions. Now in 1108 Quick Look only shows the DSMS page on the left and doesn't bring up the PROF page on the other MFCD. I liked being able to see before release that all your settings were OK. What happened to it? Does it show DSMS page instead on the left MFCD, or nothing changes? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь.
