Yeah, I can't reproduce it either.

The other week, a buddy I was flying with and I both noticed that our gear horns hadn't sounded when retracting. Just wanted to check if anyone else had noticed anything.

I've had that happen before. It seemed for me to be a total absence of certain warning sounds in general. The master caution for instance didn't make any noise when it fired off during my start up. Gear horn didn't make any noise on takeoff. I have noticed that it resolves itself during long missions and its only happened to me once or twice.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Hey guys. I made a mission that consists of navigating a canyon really low to avoid SAMs, but I can't manage to display the correct altitude to ground on the HUD.

If I choose radar altitude in the delta cal bit menu it will still give me several hundred extra feet, even if I lower the altimeter pressure knob all the way down.

Any tips?

Are you sure you're looking at the radar altimeter? You shouldn't have to change anything in the HUD settings.

The radar altitude is separate from your normal HUD altimeter and is displayed above your steerpoint info in the bottom right corner, followed by an "R" for radar.

^ I second this. IFFCC (?) switch to the middle -> display modes -> radar alt. tape. Not sure if everything is named like that but you will find it if you look. Vertical velocy very good for landing too! :)

The problem with that is now you learn first to fly the game mode SFM and train your muscle memory to it.

Then you switch to Sim mode and now have to learn flying all over again... some maneuvering now gets you crazy turns and rolled etc.

Good luck!

Golfers have learned long ago that there is no such thing as "Muscle Memory". No cognitive abilities exist in Muscle Fibers. The brain will and can adjust to a new physical methodology with little exertion.

Two questions:

How can I display wingmen in my group as square on my HUD?

And secondly, my JMR does start up. I turn it off via the CMS panel, but on the RWR panel it always is displayed as off. Any ideas?

e: I did google for it, did not found any good answers. Maybe I was just too stupid to find it.

You need to "hook" him on TAD.

JMR is activated with CMS down as in press hat down not aft, in all modes other than automatic.

Ah, so hooking him is the only thing you need to do? Handy.

But should it not display STB and the Mode, even when it is not on?

e: Thanks for the help.

If you're turning it off, it isn't even powered so it can't be on standby.

By the way, if you have no ECM pod in your loadout, it does not display anything on CMS!

Only DSMS shows loadout info.

Also you need to make sure, you did switch the jammer on, on the CMS Control panel, but I'm sure you know that.

Instalation procedure

First of all I want to apologise for filling this thread with basic garbage.

It's been a while since my last flight in A-10C. Furthermore I've never got out of pre-noob stage.

Now I try to get back in business.

I've installed DCS World, updated it. Then I've installed and registered A-10C (.

The is no A-10C in DCS World, and no training missions in A-10C.

What is the installation procedure to make it all right?

Posted

You need to login to the Module Manager in DCS World! Use the Shop/Multiplayer account you used to buy DCS A-10C.

If you have a hardcopy(DVD) you may need to create an account first and register the Serial No.

Registered on digitalcombatsimulator.com.

Binded my DVD with my account.

Login to Module Manager in DCS World. Still nothing. It's detecting only Su-25 a TF-51.

I remember there was an order in installing modules. Maybe I should install A-10C first, and then DCS World?

Posted

No! The nodules do not need manual installation. If the module is bound to your account, it should give you a pop up saying: "module xyz was added and is ready to install" when loging in to the module manager...

If you click "ok" it will download and install the necessary files to your DCS World install.

The DVD install is not needed anymore, just the key.

You can try if the account login is correct when launching multiplayer. It checks the same credentials you used for buying/binding the modules on the ED homepage... if the credentials are accepted, at least it is the correct acccoun. If you've bound the A-10C key to that account, it should download and install in module manager.

If not I suggest opening a trouble ticket with Eagle Dynamics.

Hi, guys!

Question for you, I wanted to know if the engines and the APU in the A-10C will start without the fuel boost pumps on and I don't know if it's bug or not? Thanks!

Cheers,

Vincent

Posted (edited)

The APU and the Left Engine are fed from the Left Fuel System, therefore they will start without the main boost pumps so long as the Inverter is on which energizes the DC buses which powers the DC boost pump that feeds fuel off the Left Fuel System. Right engine requires either the Right Boost Pump or Crossfeed to be on to start. I actually don't know if crossfeed with the Left Engine off will start the Right Engine, but I assume it would.

All by memory. Subject to correction.

Hold one of the mfd buttons, until the screen changes and shows a list of page buttons. Select load and click on one of the mfd buttons below. Best is the stats.

Now click this load page and there select 'load DSMS'! Careful do not select something else...

After that hold the load button again and select stats again...

Engine Hot warning lights on whenever I start a mission in the A-10C

In the past couple of days I have had a very annoying bug in the A-10C. Whenever I enter the cockpit for a cold start, the engine hot lights are lit on the warning light panel, and I am unable to start the engines.

I have carried out a repair, and also re-installed the A-10C module, but the problem will not go away.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what is goint on, and how I might correct it?

Neil
