Bucic Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) One example is that in English, the word "valve" (or abbreviation "vlv") is never used on a switch label. For example, a fuel shutoff valve lever is just labeled "fuel shutoff" and a "crossfeed valve" switch would just be labeled "crossfeed". Again, minor nitpicks on my part that nobody but me will ever notice. Maybe it was done for information sake. I could understand that myself :) Can't those plain grey textures in the doors laterals be finally fixed? these textures are about 5 pixels on a 4096x4096 pixels file the only thing i could do was to find a "medium" color that fits with an average light. that's one of the problem i couldnt fix.(and it is not the only one...) it is the way ed worked on this game that was probabely wrong....:music_whistling: Wait, wait... So the texture file for the grey areas actually are present and are of high resolution? Can you point me to the textures (file paths and their positions in the texture files)? Just wanted to clear this up before I say anything about ED spilling oil in front of modders' cars :smilewink: EDIT: . . . Duuuude! The shots are all appreciated but 1.4 MB each?! congo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Thanks Recardo !! Just one issue..HIS has several of the same degree numbers, all 12.. If you have photo-editing software and Modman so you can extract the file, it is a fairly simple fix. The file resides in sharkb.cdds and is KA-50DASH-BOARD ENG.TGA extract it using Modman CDDS explorer. After you install the mod the sharkb.cdds file will be located in Bazaar?World folder. Make corrections to the TGA file and then save as a dds file at dxt5 with 13 mipmapps and then use insert with Modman CDDS explorer to replace this texture. Hope this helps.

congo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 sorry didn't understand a word of that Colin If you use modman with your install it should have a feature for looking at CDDS files. Some of these files contain the texture files that are used in the simulation. You can edit or correct these textures if you have photoshop, gimp or some other adequate editing software. You just need to know how to use the apps.
STP Dragon Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Any chance we can get the corections ? No sorry, first I need the permission from RICARDO to share the edited files. And I don't think I will get it because it is his “baby“. I think RICARDO will fix this isues soon. RastaPutin Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Anywhere else other than LockOnfiles to get this download from?
congo Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) yes I have PSP and Pcs2 what i didnt understand was what needs to be done? it all looks fine to me regards colin If you take a close look at the HSI you will see that the degree markings are incorrect it should be 12 15 18 instead of 12 12 12 and on an english marked instrument it would have an N intead of C. I actually placed N S E and W on mine in larger text to make it easier to read when zoomed out. Edited March 9, 2011 by congo

Stretch Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Sorry to say but this is correct. In the Russian pit this switch is labeled "И251В" and "ПРОЛ" (presumably short for "ПРОЛЕТАТЬ"). The best way to translate this switch to English would be to label the switch as Stretch mentions, "I251V" and "FLYOVER" (or "OVERFLY" or even just "FLY"). The English version of the cockpit shipped with the game is in error. The English version of the cockpit was not created by ED, but was a third party add-on created by one of the testers (and he did a splendid job by all accounts). This error has slipped by without being fixed up until this point. Now would be a great time to see it fixed. ;) There is actually another error that has always bugged me, but I've never mentioned it. Not sure if it's in this pit or not...I'll have to have a look. EDIT: Found it. It's the engine start switch. In the English pit, the UP position is labeled "START" which is right. The DOWN position is labeled "FALSE START" which is correct. The LEFT position is labeled "START CRANK FALSE" which is NOT correct, it should just say "CRANK", since the three possible switch positions are "START", "CRANK", and "FALSE START". But I know it's a minor nitpick and it doesn't really bother me all that much. :) There's more, but they all come from my knowledge of the real English labels in the Mi-8/17. One example is that in English, the word "valve" (or abbreviation "vlv") is never used on a switch label. For example, a fuel shutoff valve lever is just labeled "fuel shutoff" and a "crossfeed valve" switch would just be labeled "crossfeed". Again, minor nitpicks on my part that nobody but me will ever notice. Bumping this in case it got missed.
