Griffin Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Wow that was amazingly accurate! Just as I remember it. Don't remember seeing Focke Wulf Condors (and Messerschmitts?) on the MIL side though. :D

Now that would be newsworthy :) PMDG are officially working on a plane for X-Plane. I'd wager that the iXEG 737 Classic will also be of the same level of detail and it's due out in fall (paraphrasing Tom Kyler's best guess ... he' one of the 737's developers). Cheers! Slayer Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I did read that, just impatient is all. I have the 777 for XP and its very nice but tons of small details are missing. I just want a plane with the PMDG treatment. IE I can't stand the default tire squeals on that 777, control surfaces that react instantly regardless of aircraft speed There is some stuff really nice effects you are starting to see in XP commercial projects like fog , icing, streaking effects of wipers, weather radar and glass reflections that you just don't see in FSX. The devil is in the details and I'm sure they will deliver.... Conure Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Despite my defence of FSX a few months back, I've actually put some serious time into X Plane 10 now and believe it is actually the better sim. Graphically, technically and in terms of the flight models. http://www.ixeg.net/gallery I think when that is released, along with whatever it is PMDG are releasing for XP10, we'll start to see FSX dwindle..(hopefully). Here's a couple of vids I made today showing the default X Plane terrain along with 2 of the new complex payware addon aircraft. Steel Jaw Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Bloody Hell: XPX is obviously superior to FSX in many ways and still being developed, but I have hundreds of dollars invested in FSX...how can I just walk away from that? More to the point, I cant afford to start collecting these payware add-ons from scratch for a new sim...bloody hell. More to the point, I cant afford to start collecting these payware add-ons from scratch for a new sim...bloody hell. That is my primary reason for not spending too much time with X-Plane 10 (I have the NA edition). The investment in FSX/Prepar3d compatible add-ons is something I do not want to replicate. metalnwood Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I dont have fsx or prepar3d on my system at the moment after I hijacked ssd from my flight sim machine. I do have xplane on it though and go for the odd fly about. Graphics are much fast than FSX, now way I could contemplate running 4000x2000 in FSX and have something called a framerate :) I know a lot of people have used a tool that converts fsx scenery to xplane (fs2xplane) but I havent tried it because you need fsx and the scenery installed, which I dont at the moment... As an example, just the first one pulled from youtube.. You can see it does a pretty good job, from other examples I have seen you should be able to pull at least your scenery across. Planes are another thing though.. It does have it's pitfalls but it has some highs. In the end for me I dont do enough civ simming to care to much about using while it's under development. There are certainly things I would want to come more quickly though - atc and autogen airports.
