Also, that picture is taken from outside the pit looking in. If it was taken inside the pit then it would look even better!

Yeah the external view was the only way i could reproduce this image, the camera angle would of been impossible to replicate and of course there is no pilot in the internal view :)

I'll try to take a few pictures tomorrow....we hung external tanks all day today and did leak and transfer checks between flying....can't say what for but soon I'm sure it'll be public knowledge what we're up to :D

I can only guess, I remember doing them when I was in Alaska. Sucked being on the ground when it was cold cause I wasn't APU run qualified until about 6 months before I left.

Actually, you can get angles like that, you just have to edit some .lua file (can't remember which one), and make the cockpit "restrictions" more open.

 

I remember when I was making Project 10, the angle where the you see the GAU-8 firing for the first time, that was actually a normal cockpit view, but i moved the "head" outside the cockpit and forward towards the nose of the plane.

 

It was also possible to create some sort of "getting into the A-10" shot. :)
