There's also a number of locality issues regarding aircraft lights ("Your lights are on!" "No they're not!"), buddy lasing for Paveways, etc. which have been diminishing in successive betas but are still present.

It would also be very welcome for (at short ranges) for control surface variables to be passed. It would be nice to tell my friend "Yes, your elevators work. But your flaps are at 20, fix before takeoff."

Agreed: those are ongoing issues of tactical significance IMHO.

And "-Retract Your Speedbrakes After CCIP attack with Your WORKING CBU's, who are only weapon After Your ride with WORKING Multiple JDAM where You got only 70% hits, because AI now WORKS better and tunguskas shoot some of Your bombs"

From the flurry of posts, looks like ED Team is back in the saddle. Hopefully B5 inbound soon (assuming the hangovers are of the manageable variety).

Estimated release for beta 5 was early January (technically 1st - 11th.) That was of course considering no more delays. I'm more interested in the estimated final release window that is too close to finish the Nevada theater. You can't say you don't have an estimated release time, but then say certain features won't be ready in time for release. (Not a flame) :tomato:

Obviously, they can, because it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. What difference does it make to us, really?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

All I'm saying is I can't understand why one person will say "It'll be ready when it's ready", when another says "It won't be ready in time". The difference being, one statement suggests there is a somewhat narrowed target date, while the other one says there isn't. That seems significant to me.

That's like saying "I'm not sure when the bus will arrive...because it's too close." Just saying.

Heya guys, nobody is blaming anybody for anything... we re grown people with some sense of business etiquette. Quite understandable is that such a serious development as the A-10 sim has sometimes unexpected twists. I am (we are) just looking for some updates which IMHO should be coming from time to time. Anyway.... :pilotfly:

Yes, let's all keep that in mind.

I'm sure the team is forging like mad to get beta 5 out the door. Until then, your time is probably better spent within beta 4, as opposed to sitting on the f5 key :)

ED has often given release dates on some of their ealier products, and when that date came and went people would be tearing them a new one with the eternal "You promised us!" rants, hence they shifted to "It will be released when it is ready".

The beauty of this is that they never break any promises, the problem that many simmers have the patience of a four year old at christmas.... this time ED released a Beta for the customors that preordered and once more many start nagging for new beta's.

I can frankly understand why so few companies are doing commercial simulations, remember this isn't a FPS game where the most complex calculations needed are for making the bullet strikes match the bodies that drop.

Exactly! Some peeps just won't get it how much complicated this software is.

The military and major defense sim suppliers are looking at DCS now and are wondering how we have done this on a so called "home PC".

It would be a beautiful weekend if the beta 5 come out now. :joystick:

It sure would

But if it doesn't, it won't be so bad, beta 4 is pretty damn good anyways :)

Indeed. I'm having oodles of fun with beta 4. And it's not often I go so far as to measure things by the 'oodle'.

Looking forward to some multiplayer goodness this weekend :D

The date I want to see Beta5 released is when ED is comfortable with it, no sooner. Whatever suits them is fine with me.

Spelling duh

I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.

The problem for me is, that I'm grounded because beta4 does not work for me at all. I'm getting errors (like others here) every time I want to join into 3d on any given mission. :(

I want to fly this beauty NOW! :)

And with the beta release of TARS for A-10, we have something new to play with. This radio thing is awesome!
