Anyone else uses flight gloves?

Recommended Posts

I'm wearing it for my X65, and i find it really improves the performance. Especially when using the twist rudder, my hand doesn't slip. Practical too, cos I don't have to clean my stick that often.

The gloves i'm using costs less than $5, it has tiny little rubber dots that is anti-slip.

Anyone else?

A X65F too here. If it wasn't so hot here i probably will be using too. Another reason is that the metal in the X65F as that cheap Chinese metal smell.

You dont feel embarrased enough sitting there staring at dots on your monitor with the oversized joystick, trackir headset and mic (at least its no longer forehead dots) and rudder pedals that you feel the need to add gloves as well??

First time I used the Track IR my wife laugh so hard she had to sit down, I can't imagine what she would do if I don pilot gear. :D

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

I've used Nomex flight gloves and leather deerskin flight gloves for years with my FSSB modded HOTAS Cougar. Definitely improved my precision and feel flying with a force sensing stick.

With the HOTAS Warthog, however, I find I can be more precise without gloves since the stick moves and I have it center mounted.

Ooooh, deerskin, that might actually be worth a go. To hell with the wifey.

Hell to da yeaya!

P.S. From the mid 90's to just a few years ago the USAF Thunderbirds were the only Air Force squadron approved to use leather deerskin gloves. Sadly, the vendor went out of business, and for the past few seasons they've used Nomex desert colored ones (I believe).

LOL!

If I'm gonna nerd-it-out in the mancave (and take the smirk remarks) I'd rather be a full-on hardcore geek than wearing some half-baked ghetto gloves. :megalol:

Really, does it matter what type of gloves they are? You're inside a hopefully heated house while simming. No fear of frostbite. Still, Nomex gloves are just cool!

The only reason us real pilots wear flight gloves is for fire protection. So unless your computer monitor has a habit of spontaneously combusting, I'd forgo the flight gloves.
