Much beefier sound. Love it. Beta 5 update. :)

 

Tell me that would not be awesome with a buttkicker strapped to your chair.

Wonder if I could use that as my ring tone? Have that go off as a ringer with vibrate on? lol.

Nice! Another effect I would like to see added is the Cockpit view and HUD vibrating when you fire.

Sounds great! Strange though the tracers appear high up to the right of the canopy. Perhaps I am missing something or it is a know issue.

Why the chaff countermeasures right before the strafe?

 

Countermeasures are best employed preemptively. It's better to prevent the enemy from launching a missile than to try to evade it after it's launched. Standard practice is to start emitting flares and/or chaff as you roll in on a target, since anything worth blowing up is likely to be defended by something, and you can't generally see MANPADS unless they want to be seen. Even vehicle-based SHORAD can be very difficult to spot.

Tracers are from the tank firing at the incoming plane. You can see it firing in the external view at 1:52.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

I definitely like the internal sound, but is it possible to keep the external sound of Beta 4 somehow? I don't know why, but I like that one better than what's in the video for external... just sounds more distant. I could be wrong, but does anyone know where I can save the external sound as a backup?

That is a sweet video indeed, the GAU has never sounded better :thumbup:

 

One bugbear though, i wished there was a newer effect for the tank "cooking" prior to explosion (2 mins into video) that wierd strobing flame animation just looks wrong to me.

 

In a perfect world, we'd have effects like this, but i realise that the performace hit would be pretty substancial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJe9mSzC5RQ
