Conure Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Conure thank you.... I was always rooting for DCS: Tornado IDS! That'd be great...Or...DCS: Harrier GR9...VTOL in DCS in a fixed wing...Now that'd make me happy! Kevlon Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The dream was to feel realistic unscripted cobra maneuver in Su27 , to taste true carrier landing on rusty Admiral Kuzniecov with Su33, to learn about amasing fusion of advanced tehnology and good old fashion avionics in MiG29SMT...Like i said, sad day for all "Wings of red star" lovers... i had a small hope too.. but the theres always the next dcs module right.. after... this one.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
J3ff Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Aww. I was hoping it would be a chopper module next :(
Bucic Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 One logical argument pro RUS rather than US aircraft is "less fly-by-wire = more satisfaction from flight". But this only applies to fighters. F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
Boberro Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) I canґt believe it. Another USA plane. Another module i wonґt buy. They have lot of work made it of the A10, so they will use in the future F15, F16 ED wasnґt Russian? Please, we need a russian plane!! DCS comes from FC, and FC from lomac, and lomac from Flanker!!!! We want a MIG29 or a Flanker!! Greetings Nobody is forcing you with axe above your head :) Don't like, don't buy. Can't be simplier. I hope to see F-16C as the next DCS module. Unfortunately I bet F-18 :crash: I thought you like Szerszeń as same as Jaszczomp... ;] Edited February 10, 2011 by Boberro Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... GGTharos Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 It doesn't apply to anything ... the FBW is there to maximize handling efficiency and provide care-free handling of the aircraft. If you're getting 'more satisfaction' because it is easier to commit an error, something's not right I think. Flying is flying. Su-27 uses a fly-by-wire system anyway ;) One logical argument pro RUS rather than US aircraft is "less fly-by-wire = more satisfaction from flight". But this only applies to fighters. BKLronin Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Until we have at least one aircraft for everyone it will turn 2050 hopefully. We dont have to worry about flightsim future then. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SEwhiteG Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Ahhhh:doh: There is no future in this. People will simply stop flying. I am very sad about this and I believe that more than half a LO community shares my opinion. 1
ED Team JimMack Posted February 10, 2011 ED Team Posted February 10, 2011 I want to join the RAF but it doesn't mean I only want to fly the Typhoon. Still don't understand the mentality but it's perhaps because I have an interest in general and historical aviation, rather than an interest in a specific aircraft. A friend of mine is a figher pilot (Typhoon, RAF) who has seen DCS. He reckons the training staff would dissuade people from using DCS prior to beginning flight school as it can teach all manner of bad habits, and instil a false confidence...Still, great training tool when you've got the correct procedures down. Anyway, each to their own I suppose. Your friend is absolutely correct. You can not learn to fly on a flight sim. But if you are transferring from say Tornado to Typhoon, the quickest and most effective way to learn the new switchology of MFDs, avionics, weapons etc, is with a simulator, which now can operate on a PC. That is why A10A pilots use DTS:A10C to upgrade to the A10C. Before that it was sitting in the actual cockpit on the ground, with power on, and going through the written checklists until you learnt them by heart. That cost money! 2 Having problems? hassata Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Carrier Ops with Janes F/A-18 pedigree and DCS craftsmanship? Yes please, landlord! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
empeck Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 The AV-8B is quite more similar to the A-10 and we could do carrier operations as well and experience the thrill of the VTOL.
digitaljjd Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Wow! It's JimMack! The guy who was interviewed in the article. What's up London town? When I was stationed in Germany, it was rumored that guys with an american accent got more attention in the UK from the girls. Is that true? Sadly, I never had the chance to go over and find out first hand.
Furia Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Ahhhh:doh: There is no future in this. People will simply stop flying. I am very sad about this and I believe that more than half a LO community shares my opinion. I do not see why. If the reason is that the new aircraft is from one specific nationality, you can count that the same number of people not flying it, would be replaced by new people interested on it and that was not interested on the previous "market". Anyway, people that likes military flight sims, would embrace it with passion if it is one of the high quality DCS product, be US, Russiam or European, fixed or rotary. I vouch for the Harrier or the F-18!!!! Fun.. fun... fun.. And carrier ops. [sIGPIC]http://menorca.infotelecom.es/~raulurbina/ESA/banner_furia.png[/sIGPIC]
*Rage* Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Code for the the F16 was progressing from before even the release of Black Shark (or the DCS concept). It was put on hold pending BS release and then the external contract for the A10 came next. Once DCS:WH is out the door work im guessing that work will resume on the F16. Besides it makes sense to do the falcon next. Out of that list it is the one with most available information and would bring all the falconeers on board from F4AF. Personally the F16 is my least favourite choice (Would much prefer Su27/Mig29 or even the F18/15) but still a fighter is welcome.
