Herbie Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Another vote for combat tactics. I know how the systems work, but would like to learn how to deploy them by the book...or at least closer to it.
Maulkin Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I understand how most people here might not see much of a use for it, but for complete n00bs like me I would find it very helpful to the rest of the tutorial missions completed similar to the two you did for the startup procedure. It just helps to know what to expect and allows me to study it in detail. I found it a great help when I was able to examine the producer notes for Black Shark and that really accelerated my learning. The manual is very convoluted on this stuff, and you can find it divided up into about three different sections. I was trying to process my first 9-line and had no clue what to do :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

jctrnacty Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 OK seriously this time How to effectively use wingman against air defences. Atomic978 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 A producer note 3 CDU. Then producer note 4 TGP/TAD. Then at last producer note 5 mission editor. Making simple to more advance missions. Triggers and flags as I am just getting started with it and would like to learn simple ways to create missions. I think I learn better from videos then reading. Bucic Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 OK seriously this time How to effectively use wingman against air defences. When i order him to engage air defences he flies straight to target and gets killed. +1 Having read a dozen of books on RL A-10 tactics won't help much because we're dealing with AI. The best set of guidelines could be provided mostly by a person who knows DCS W AI curiosities. F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
kevins Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 It would be great to have some real combat pilots flying together in multiplayer demonstrating various tactics. With TARS, of course. I would think there should be several pilots that were consulted during the creation of the sim. That would be an incredible learning tool. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Speedbrake Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 How about more detail on the creation, use for, and detail of the CDU system including all the various functions such as markpoints, flight planning in the air, etc.. Another might be the "backup" HARS system.
jiblet Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 My votes, such as they are, would be for CDU use as above and some on working with JTAC under all 3 types. Eg while I can buddy lase with a JTAC unit and destroy the target from way up above the clouds... I have no idea really how I did it or what the radio calls I was giving out (Laser, Spot, Shift etc) really mean.
aaron886 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 "Analog" navigation systems, or navigating the CDU and some finer points about it.
Eight Ball Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 +1 for CDU. Also maybe a video with the most common mistakes a pilot could do in flight and how to correct them (Hung store, blinking "note" on the HUD, CCIP invalid, INU alignment, etc...) xXstubbifiedXx Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I'd like to see one for CDU and midair refueling. I know I have issues where I get confused, having set a SPI set somewhere, then I can't get it to lock back in to the steerpoint SPI without changing steerpoints back and forth.
