Flight simulator ZX 81

lol

And petty much any simulator since then.

I remember seeing Battlestar Galactica at the cinema, and same evening drew a flightstick with all those nice

buttons and formfitting shape. Thinking If only the hardware guys knew our desires, dreaming away. That was when joysticks

was the atari type with bubbles that wore out fast. Threw the drawing away thinking, that will never happen.

Now i look at my Warthog, and realise my dream came trough.

When I enter this thread, I'm lost in 80s game videos (C64 or Amiga) in YouTube. :)

After one hour, I'm closing browser with a smiley face...

Well, I Loaded Dosbox, and tried a few of the oldies. Bad bad mistake.

Because I remember them as beeing way better than what i saw in dosbox.

I guess my imagination did a lot of the work back then. But seeing them now

they look horrible. So comparing what we get now when we buy a game. to then. You really are getting value now.

Microsoft flight simulator 1.0

Exciting times on that ibm pc.

After this I went through the series of home computing in the family and with available sims.

Amiga was great simming with the F18 interceptor (using the amiga for music production as well)

Most time spent with lock on I think.

I am 23, my dad showed me my first flight sim when I was 5 years old - Microsoft Flight simulator 5.0.

When I was 8, he got me Combat Flight Simulator. I LOVED it. To this day some of my fondest memories are of my dad or my brother and I flying against each other.

Also in that same year I tried to play Falcon 4, but I was only 8 years old and all I ever had the patience to do was take off, drop bombs, and land. So I would play Falcon 4 sometimes, but I always preferred MS Combat Flight Simulator (1, 2, and 3).

That's the first flight simulator i played. I was about 7 or 8 years old at that time. I remember how hard it was to figure out what was going on as I didn't know English at that time. :)
