Trident Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 That NVG-effect looks really well done, do bright light sources cause a streak when moving the FOV quickly?
355th_Paulie Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 The '50 does look good indeed, but, this wasnt what I expected..... An AFM for the Hog, yes, not a helo.... sorry  :D
akdavis Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Where is the sensor unit under the nose? i.e. as here: http://maks.sukhoi.ru/media/photo/maks2005/maks2005d1079.jpg and here: http://maks.sukhoi.ru/media/photo/maks2005/maks2005d1289.jpg
Trident Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 That's a prototype Ka-50, probably configured for export. The Ka-50s in Russian service look very much like the one ED is showing us here. Although I must admit that I'm surprised that the Abris MFD should be considered standard equipment.

Although I must admit that I'm surprised that the Abris MFD should be considered standard equipment. The info placard in the first shot suggests that it is a Ka-50 as produced for Russian military. My understanding is that prototypes and export aircraft are given distinct names (as you can see with the various MiG-29s at the show). Anybody know what's the deal on the Ansat-2R? http://maks.sukhoi.ru/media/photo/maks2005/maks2005d1005.jpg

GGTharos Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Can you type 'you'? Anyway, everyone dreams of 'that' simulation, but it isn't really going to happen too soon ... you can already do it to some extent in OFP, but only to some extent. SUBS17 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Man that night vision looks more realistic than anything I've seen before on a PC. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I posted a few new screenshots of the Ka-50, one of them is of the NVG vision inside the Ka-50. http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=News&file=a...ode=&order=0&thold=0
Sealpup Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Wow! That IS very well done night vision. Looks exactly like some of the first-gen scopes I had. If they REALLY want to make it look like real NVGs, though, they'd add some random black spots about the picture. To simulate the imperfections in the light-amp tubes, but that's just me knit-picking ;)
