Vinny002 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Hi, Zabuza! I'm not 100% sure, I'm using 1.28 beta, where would the tracks be located, when I hit the ESC key, I go directly to desktop. I'm using create fast mission. Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
Vinny002 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Hi, guys! Question for you, in the p-51, I lean the air/fuel mixture as I gain altitude, right? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
sobek Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 No, default is auto lean and it does it itself. There's no way to do different other than that since the mixture control is not an axis. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Vinny002 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Hi, guys! Question for you about how high can the p-51D can go, is it possible for the p-51D to get up to 50,000 feet if I try hard? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
Zabuzard Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Wikipedia says: Service ceiling: 41,900 ft (12,800 m) I'd say give it a try :) There are several things to do if flying so high like Rammed/Hot air etc. should be stated in the manual.
Shahdoh Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 On the VA Server, myself and a few others have gotten her up around 43k. She wallows around barely clawing at what little air there is at that altitude.
SchniX Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Hi lowering the flaps at high speed don't work because the wind is strong enough to retract them, even if the flaps lever is in the down position, but my question is, is it causing damage to the hydraulic actuator, or any damage to the flap mechanism? I know that in the F-6F pilots were leave the flaps lever in the down position, and at high speeds the flaps retract by the wind. but when they where slower enough, the flaps extended, while turning in dogfight for a better turn, or for a landing. on the other hand, i know that in the P-47, if you where lower your flaps at high speed it broke the flap mechanism and the flaps remains connected to the wing, but loose. So, how it works in the P-51? letting the hydraulic actuator trying to lower the flaps and fight the wind at high speeds is damaging the mechanism? Thx Edited May 20, 2014 by SchniX
JABO2009 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 guys, I simply LOVE the P51D... but pls tell me, is there a SOUND MOD available for the Engine?? (interior + exterior) havent seen anything in the user files ... Python Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I've just noticed I can't set the parking brake on my P-51. I have W and my rudder pedals set to control he brakes. And they are both showing as working in the control position display. But when i pull out the handle, apply the brakes and release it, it simply folds back in all the way. Any ideas? 9.JG27 DavidRed Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 pull parking brake and keep it pulled.push both pedal brakes fully downward and release them again...after that release the parking brake lever again...that way it should work
Python Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Thank you, I know how it should work however, it doesn't though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 sorry i think ive read your post wrong...well are you sure that your brakes axis are reaching the 100% position every time?i remember that people were saying that ch pedals and also saitek ones had a problem in dcs with not reaching the edges of movement every time, although working fine in other games....sorry thats the only thing that i can think of right now.
Python Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I'll have to check, I'm using the Saitek combat rudder pedals. You would expect using the "W" key would still work even if the pedals didn't. Weird. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mike Busutil Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Press the brakes first, then pull the park brake handle, then release the brakes... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/
Bounder Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Silly question, but have you double checked your wheel brakes are set correctly? For example with the saitek rudder pedals everyone I know (including myself) have to invert our toebrake axis otherwise they are on when you aren't pushing them/ off when pressure applied (opposite of how they should be). Probably a long shot but if they are reversed it might explain why you are having trouble setting the parking brake?? 1 My PC specs: Win10 64 Pro, CPU i7-3820 4.4GHz, 16GB RAM, GPU Nvidia 1070 (8gb vram). Controls: Microsoft FFB2, Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle, MFG Crosswind Pedals, TrackIR5. My DCS Youtube Videos https://www.youtube.com/user/No64Bounder
CaptnCrunch Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I was having similar problems with my saitek pedals. To fix I had to put a small dead zone at the end of the curve so that dcs detected 100% @ around 95% input.
Python Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 They do seem to be working correctly, as in they stop me on the runway, I will try adding the deadzone later. Seems strange that it doesn't work wit the "W" key either however, it did before and I haven't changed anything. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

And again after restoring all of my control settings. I actually tried taxi & takeoff with them reversed. Flaming mess ensued. Python Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Okay, I removed all controls and added them again, it is working as it should now. Thanks for all the help, no idea what the problem was but it's resolved now. Now to figure out how to trim the damn thing properly (hat switch on thrustmaster warthog) It never wants to settle down even at a constant speed and power setting. In fact I found using the throttle gave better control than trimming in some cases, is this normal or is can the hat switch be set to move the trim wheels much less with every press? I think I've been flying the F-15 too long... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CmdrMoros Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Hi there. So the last newsletter i received states this: ABOUT DCS WORLD Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) is a free-to-play digital battlefield game, focusing on a military aircraft simulation. It includes a FREE TF-P1D Mustang and a Su-25T attack aircraft. DCS World includes a vast mission area of the Caucasus region that encompasses much of Georgia - the location of the 2008 conflict. Further maps will be available in 2014. Additionally, DCS World includes: • Powerful mission and campaign editors • Multiplayer • Massive inventory of air, land and sea combat units and weapons etc etc. My question is.... How do we activate the p-51 game module once it is installed? It is asking me for a key. Can I use my A-10C key for this? Thanks for the help in advance guys.
Art-J Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 My question is.... How do we activate the p-51 game module once it is installed? You don't. If you updated DCS World properly to version 1.2.8, an icon for TF-51 should appear right next to icon for Su-25T and You should be able to select and fly it in fast mission, instant action missions etc. Unless You're confusing the free TF-51D version with full paid P-51D version (Your post above mentions both). In that case... It is asking me for a key. Can I use my A-10C key for this? Thanks for the help in advance guys. ...You purchase it and activate it just like any other module/product in DCS universe. It requires its own licence key. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Vinny002 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi, guys! I'm not 100% sure, is there a way to get the aileron, rudder, and elevator trims to work when I'm using the game flight checked in the gameplay tab of the options on the right hand side of the screen in the DCS startup screen? The aileron, elevator, and the rudder trim wheels work even with the game flight checked. Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
