anyone seen this new ridley scott sci-fi film yet, imo hes way up there as the all time great directors ..

3d cgi looks great.

....................

the ship in the movie is named after greek mythology..

PROMETHEUS was the Titan god of forethought and crafty counsel who was entrusted with the task of moulding mankind out of clay. His attempts to better the lives of his creation brought him into direct conflict with Zeus. Firstly he tricked the gods out of the best portion of the sacrificial feast, acquiring the meat for the feasting of man. Then, when Zeus withheld fire, he stole it from heaven and delivered it to mortal kind hidden inside a fennel-stalk. As punishment for these rebellious acts, Zeus ordered the creation of Pandora (the first woman) as a means to deliver misfortune into the house of man, or as a way to cheat mankind of the company of the good spirits. Prometheus meanwhile, was arrested and bound to a stake on Mount Kaukasos where an eagle was set to feed upon his ever-regenerating liver (or, some say, heart). Generations later the great hero Herakles came along and released the old Titan from his torture.

2 Days in the Valley when I fell for Charlize Theron. I'm not surprised Prometheus sucks, the trailer didn't look that great. Has anyone seen Snow White and the Huntsman?

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

I did, and despite what critics had to say about it I rather enjoyed it.

Watched it yesterday. The theater was half empty on opening day, which is unnusual, and kinda disturbing for a highly anticipated movie.

In the end I found it an ejoyable movie and maybe you will also, as long as you Forget its Ridley Scott and it is (?) an ALIEN Movie.

If you cant seperate one from the other, then your in for a disapointement Im afraid. It could be perfectly a standalone movie.

It does have plot holes (need directors cut version), a few unrealistic parts (who would take such indisciplined crew on such mission?) and breaks some of the universes spinoff's. Only 1 actress made an impression (they arent exactly oscar winner either), all others were so bland it didnt bother me at all they ended up being defenseless sacrificial lambs.

If you want to see marines VS man eating creatures from hell, forget it. The movie goes onto a more philosophical, sit back ride for the most of the time, except for the few scenes were the crew gets pasted.

Thanks Pilotasso, you put in the correct perspective & expectations for me, I might go see it after all then.

I loved the 1st 3 films (not the rest), and I'd totally recommend Prometheus. Sure there's a few eye-brow raisers through the film, but the good outweighs the bad!

The internet has hugely mixed reviews about the film, I think it's a Marmite of a movie, love it or hate it.

This applies to all Aliens movies.

I thought Prometheus was entertaining but not great.

The first two Alien movies are really great, even today. I just watched them again to make sure it wasn't just nostalgia :D

This applies to all Aliens movies.

Those movies depicted basicaly the scum of the galaxy. Now: Just imagine if NASA sent territorial, claustrophobic, asmhatic men with vertigo in a space capsule and the thing happens to land in the middle of a lions pit, and the guns are taken away from them because they cant be trusted in the first place :D This is how prometheus depicts astronauts. :)

But hey I might be picky.
