BoneSaw Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Be nice if ED offered a comment on this issue . I got hundreds of pounds worth of gear , to play this and cant play it !!! Hundreds? I bought a new Thrustmaster warthog HOTAS, three new 21 inch monitors, 2 eight inch usb monitors, two Thrustmaster MFCD controllers, and a second video card. I have at least a thousand dollars invested in this sim and can't fly on line because of this issue. I can't even put a price on how much time I have spent learning systems, printing manuals, doing training flights. I actually recommended this thing to a friend a week ago, I am very sorry I did that. I am beyond fed up. ED better say somting soon 'cause this is getting real old, real quick.
badger66 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Check my post , number 50 , maybe this will work for you .
BoneSaw Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Ok ..... check this out . Go to multiplayer and sign in , under the options link set your connection to LAN ..... yeah , I know , just do it . It was explained to me something about already being connected , setting to LAN will boost your connection speed . Now , I havent played World for longer than 10 minutes before , I just played for a hour with no issue . Hope this helps you as it seems to have solved my issue . Let me know if this works for you . Already did that, didn't help.
voodooman Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) flash player? for me this started to happen after flashplayer update. could that be the cause? i know very little about that stuff.. anyone else have just updated flash player 11.3? EDIT: i could connect to some servers some not. weird... Edited July 16, 2012 by voodooman
jazjar Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Ok, clearing out the temp folder and setting to LAN works, but only extends my time from one minute to ten. Even if it did work, I don't want to keep on doing that, what if there is something I need in there? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mustang Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Something has just occurred to me, point #2 in this old post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1061446&postcount=18 maybe servers hosting missions with a long mission description/briefing are causing client dropouts? worth trying just to see (i know this issue can still plague FC2) Edited July 16, 2012 by Mustang
ShuRugal Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 i'll run that idea by goodkill and the other WGL hosts and see if shortening it helps. Is there a certain number of characters that should be aimed for?
july865 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 @mustang no go. 1 sentence, 0 sentences, doesnt matter. only solution i had that worked, but only for a little while, is restarting the server by making a ASDL setting change. doesnt matter what change, just make the change and it'll run but a short while. the server name will appear in the master server list and all is is good... but then will happen again. we just have to wait it out. Kite Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 same here. Never had problem with server connection untill update of new DCSWorld . I used BS2 a lot and never occurred problems. Now i get connection interrupted 7 servers out of 10. In some server i can connect and in other i can not. Don't Understand why this server is ok and the other not. I have win7 processor intel dual core 2,6 ghz Nvidia 9800GT 1 gb 4 GB ram ddr2 Track ir installed
PVI_Eagle Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Same problem for me. I thing the problem is in CA, al lot of traffic is required now. I set =PVI= server as LAN , but when I try to connect as client to my server ,I have continued disconnections...only after 7/8 disconnection the line seems to be more stabile. Boh....!!!! Waiting for help... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VMFA117_Poko Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 ^ You might be right. I flew P51 only server yesterday. There was no single connection lost but still a lot of "warppings" under small pings...
Boberro Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I remember being on one of the PVI servers. Was OK, really rarely I've been disconnected. Other PVI was worse, but STP servers were mostly total failure - I've been disconnected either trying to enter or after while just after I entered or other time when I picked ground vehicle up.... I don't know what differences between these incidents were but surely something is wrong with MP events. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Mt5_Roie Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 As anyone from ED actually responded yet to this? Seems like a big issue. We need to know what kind of logs or information to collect so we can help resolve it. We've held off moving our wing from the stand alone A-10C and KA-50 to the DCS World Dedicated server until this issue is resolved. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
Custer Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I had the same problems with "connection interrupted" after only a couple of minutes of gameplay. DCS World v1.2.0 Here is how i fixed it: First go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\DCS\Config Delete file(s) network.cfg (not sure if you need to delete network.vault but I did, remember your login credentials because they will be removed next time you start DCS World in MP) Now start DCS World and login with your login credentials. Got to Options and change Player name to whatever you want and change Network Speed to ADSL 256. Hope this helps. I have 10Mbit/s connection but I still use ADSL 256 for Network Speed and it seems to work for me. Happy gaming :joystick:

Now i get connection interrupted 7 servers out of 10. In some server i can connect and in other i can not. Don't Understand why this server is ok and the other not. If some do and some don't, then it must be something in the way Master Server interprets DNS records... Is Master Server doing any traffic once a client is on server in mission? We flew last night DCS 1.2.0 over Teamviewer VPN connection to our server and set all settings to LAN (server and clients)... Not a single dropout... but it was only three of us... Two flew CAS in A-10s and I was JTAC in Humwee... We fly in VPN cause the firewall doesn't let 10308 out for connections... But I also had lots of dropouts on all other servers I tried in the past few days... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
overpro Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) "Connection interrupted" can mean many things ... to identify it you really needs logs. You'll get connection interrupted even if kicked / banned. With a failed IC as well. And bugs. And poor connections. Hm, I'm sure there are more reasons. Most common issue though: - You're dropped due to poor connection between you and the server which is hosting. It's the loss of "UDP packages" in the session - leading to a drop. I'm running a server dubbed "China Virtual Pilot DCSW server", we have the same issue, only 3 people can connect to the server, other players connected will get "connection interrupted" after 2 minutes, I don't think it is caused by a bad network connection, we did the test with some one who have a good connection and used wireshark to capture the UDP packages on both end and compared the saved capture, well, no package lost but the people still get disconnected. Nothing in logs. But now we found the solution for our server, in simple: disable CA slots in .miz we did quite a lot of test and I can say if our server running a map with any Combined Arms slots available then this issue can happens. With the same internet connection, same setting, same .miz but with all the CA slots disabled, this issue is gone. And it doesn't matter if the server has CA installed or not. I'm not sure if this workaround will fix your problem, but worth a try. ---New test result--- if a mission has CA slots enabled then the options should NOT enforce "fog of war" Edited July 16, 2012 by overpro overpro = I'm not good at Nintendo Mario and always get "Game over" pretty fast, so over~~pro
Mt5_Roie Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 So in theory can we can disable to CA slots, but allow pilots to control vehiciles (check box at the top of those options). That way pilots can still do JTAC and ground attacks and we don't have to have any slots. hi all, I'm running a server dubbed "China Virtual Pilot DCSW server", we have the same issue, only 3 people can connect to the server, other players connected will get "connection interrupted" after 2 minutes, Maybe we found what the problem is, in simple: disable CA slots in .miz we did quite a lot of test and I can say my server running a map with any Combined Arms slots available then this issue is there, with the same internet connection, same setting, same .miz but with all the CA slots disabled then this issue is gone. sorcer3r Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 In the network.cfg there are lines (server side) for: client_outbound_limit = 0, public = false, client_inbound_limit = 0, Can anyone recommend values for these? HiJack Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I belive you should set this to "256000" on both limits. EDIT: But of course you could set 128000 also depending on your (the server's) OUTBOUND speed!
july865 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 we at the 689th use that to limit player connection speed to the server. just in case someone forgets to set their network speed setting to the server requirements. through testing and through the advice for a specific testers recommendation to me on a post several months ago, we use 128000. but imho, none of this matters as it does not solve the issue. this is a current setting on the server, but it will still act up sooner or later. we have not tried yet to remove the CA spots in the missions we use yet. maybe this MAY help. either way, be patient and ED will resolve the MP issue. We just did a few more tests, if we enabled CA slots( Ground Control, JTAC ) but not enforce "fog of war" in game options, then all connected players are ok. if we enforce to enable "war fog" then the clients got disconnected. july865 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 pay attention to ALL the post on the ED forums. we are not going to "tweek" our way out of this. its up to ED to resolve this. be patient. it'll happen. badger66 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 be patient and ED will resolve the MP issue. Some kind of recognition from Ed over this issue would be nice . perhaps some word that they realise the problem and are working on it . 8 pages now , and no official reply isnt top service , is it ?
