Wouldn't it make more sense that the aircrafts that are getting the 3D pits are more likely future DCS module candidates?
If GG answers with question there always must be a seed of thruth ;).

^^Yes, but we're talking Mig29 here..which is a quite popular aircraft in this community and among those which didn't get announced for a cockpit upgrade.

So is every other aircraft in the series, they are all popular. Hopefully they all become DCS models.

I couldnt find it but there was some post by someone at ED saying that Russia recently adopted strict anti-spying laws and that effectively finished any chance of further work on the mig?

I still think there is a place for a 3rd party export version of flanker or mig...

It's been said million times on this forum that DCS modules are not connected with community wishes in any way, they are just "leftovers" of super secret military contracts of some kind ...or whatever... That said, i'm still wondering, which army ordered goddamn Mustang then?! :D

Speaking of which ...

Our (Serbian) AF is very near to close the deal for, IIRC, 8 MiG29M + 4 UBs, so maybe ED is doing the desktop simulator for 29M!?

:lol::lol::lol:

Would be great, though ... :D

Incorrect.

There are synergies between the markets.

Ka-50 is a weapon system of the past. It is not even manufactured any more. MiG-29S is also vary old system and I wish, one day, we will get a DCS quality (Ka-50 quality) MiG-29S.

Also, if i recall correctly, just like A-10C with US National Guard, ED had contract with Russian military to develop Ka-50 for a PC simulator.

"Very careful" doesn't mean impossible! ;)

OTH, we won't see 4+ , 4++, 5th generation aircraft any time soon, no matter Red or Blue, democracy/"non-democracy" or whatever.

Simply, too many classified stuff on those birds for DCS standard of modelling ...

MiG 29S is realistic proposition in this regard, and MiG 29A would be probably easier legal wise.

Bring it on! We are not picky :)

I think people on these boards are jumping to all sorts of wild conclusions on little or no basis at all :D .

As I recall the comment in question was in response to a question by a forum member asking why there weren't more "Western" 3rd party developers going for Russian aircraft types - i.e. that this new law might have made it harder for them to find "subject matter experts" in Russia willing to provide information on military stuff to foreigners.

But being a Russian company, I don't see how this could be an obstacle for ED. Besides, the "basic" MiG-29 is pretty well documented in public available manuals - unlike some of the previous projects(Ka-50, Su-25T).

I still think there is a place for a 3rd party export version of flanker or mig...

If you think that ED wouldn't be able to get suffcient level of documentation for the MiG-29 to make a DCS module, then how would a third party developer be able to do it? :) - or did you mean in terms of a lower fidelity level than ED would go for?

Its irrelevant if its still being built or not , its still high tech .

No, it's 1980's tech, with components that are abandoned otherwise. In the instances where Skhval/Vikhr etcetera are used today, it's because there wasn't any money (yet) for replacing them...

The one thing in there that is somewhat modern is the ABRIS MMS, but that thing is a bolt-on that doesn't even talk to the helicopter's navigation system. ;)

As for how ED managed to get info on it; check the box art. Note the Kamov logo on there. ;)

(At least on my russian BS1 box, my english versions are digital.)

Now, if MiG corporation makes planes, systems and documentation available and co-operates... Then all bets are off. (Aside from whatever the government might have to say.)

Anything better than what we have now would be better than nothing. But I have not discarded the chance of DCS level, no. Im a dreamer. :D

Yeah I agree with that, but...

But I have not discarded the chance of DCS level

....then I don't see any reason to discard dreams concerning DCS level for the "baseline" MiG-29(9-12 or 9-13).

The new multirole variants OTOH..

no. Im a dreamer. :D

Aren't we all :D

Just saw the overview video of DCS world and they confirmed Sukhoi Su-27SM3 'Flanker' module !

Well, F-18c is also there but my eye was on the new modern Russian jets... anyway I am back on playing ED with their DCS World and stopped playing Eurotruck Simulator 2.

Thank you Eagle Dynamics & DCS World for listening to your Russain flying machines fan. For now Su27SM3 is enough for me to enjoy what I enjoy before with you old titles.

And Thank you Danilop for making right posts and points what we (Russian Jets lovers or any other Euro, Eastern warbirds) are trying to say and you said it well.

Again Thank you...

New sheriff in town, for sure - it should own F-15c. I already see threads in the line of: "We need F22 to balance the multiplayer!" :D

I doubt you will see that happen danilop. But maybe since they said DCS F-15, it'll finally get the features it has been lacking for years.....once again the we'll see threads saying "The F-15 is too good".

That is some great news, but lets not hold our breath, it could take 6+ years for it to get released.
