Out of nowhere it's happening to me too now.

I was in server, i realized my pedals were not working. I leave the server, plug my pedals in, start DCS Multiplayer again.

.... DCS HAS STOPPED WORKING....

What?

Already in LAN option... goddamn it...

PS: Soooooo, I tried disabling TrackIr, that didnt help.

Guess what.

It's my pedals.

I unplugged the pedals, and turned on track IR, and now master server works.... the ****? Saitek pedals.

PPS: Never mind. Now it's not working no matter what I do. I give up. This is not cool.

Ralfi, mine did that too last night! I was flying with Wolf on 104th. Got in the game no problem and flew and was shot down. I exited the game to check on my graphics settings as the server was really choppy. Tried to get back in and Bam right to the desk top. DCS has stopped working. Restarted my machine about 5 times and no joy.

Thought I was going to have to do the reinstall dance, but when I tried it tonight it works now! WTH?

Its not you

There is nothing you can do about it, apart from keep trying to join

Its DCS

They know about it and have said it will be fixed in the next update

( presuming it will be end on September when FC3 is released, but lets hope there is a fix before then :( :) )

Yes it's DCS and their World server. I was on yesterday and at the exact same time me and a fried got the issue. It then went away about 5 minutes later. It's DCS crashing itself out via the web basically. :p

We can't reproduce this issue internally.

The investigation has pointed to a bug in 3-rd party library, which is already fixed.

Forthcoming release should be free from this issue.

Question!

In the multiplayer options, there are settings to choose your internet connection.

How do I know which to use or which is the best one?

Choose LAN option, all the other options seem to be problematic right now.

I'm sorry but this is a little ridiculous. You claim to have found the a fix to a problem you couldn't reproduce.

Having to wait for the next release is just poor customer service. You have a huge number of people unable to use a key component of software that they paid for.

This is completely unacceptable and if Eagle Dynamics was an American company I would report you to the BBB. An issue this large should be an immediate hotfix. I can not think of any other software company that has had this big an issue and chose to "wait for the next release" before fixing it. I'm at a loss for words. As the years go by that I use your software I am amazed you are able to stay in business with this level of tom foolery.

You must not have heard about vulnerabilities that Microsoft didn't patch for years then, huh?

Not to bag MS, they just happened to be an easy example.

Ok which one? Can we download this 3rd party DLL redistributable somewhere in the meantime at least?

So you are comparing this game breaking bug to vulnerabilities? Seriously?

I have never not been able to use a MS product because of a bug. Ever.

At least MS talks to you. You can find out all the information on bugs and vulnerabilities.

We don't get jack from ED. Like the reply above from c0ff.... seems like you found the problem, how about YOU COMMUNICATE IT TO US!!!!!!!!!

You know maybe we can get this fixed library ourselves... novel concept I know.

I've been canceling the log on and setting internet connection to lan and then log in, seems to have worked every time.

I initially wasn't able to follow this work around (was still ctding). Additional notes to attempt (that seemed to get the work around to work for me)

(Running as admin set in compatibility section, win 7 x64)

1. On first load, cancel the login like wess24m is suggesting

2. Go into options change any network settings (set mine to lan)-->ok-->exit

3. reload dcs world multi

4. can now login

Doesn't work, problem is back today. Reinstall of DCS World and 2010 redist does not help.

So, what are we paying for here? Where is the hotfix if someone fixed the issue already?!

Can't play any multiplayer during this, connecting by IP also fails.

Well this is a pretty catastrophic failure for something that's mostly an MP sim. I think they should get on it and provide a hotfix ASAP. People paid good money for this... s*** happens, but you're supposed to respond in accordance to urgency.

^^ unfortunately the reply to this came from a mod stating something about Microsoft and all of the vulnerabilities they had that "hotfixes" weren't available to remedy. Confused? Me too.. as stated ED knows and its being worked on.. I agree that this should've been fixed a while ago.

Hit and miss for me. Sometimes it crashes on sign-in and sometimes it doesn't. Changing my settings to LAN doesn't seem to make a difference.

Yeah, disregard above. Can't duplicate success now.

Other steps attempted.

1. Cancel on first load

2. Change from internet search to lan search

3. login (is successful)

4. It only ctd's once I switch off of lan and go to internet

edit: update

1. Internet search is returning results but when i attempt to connect I get "connection interrupted"
