Court Jesters actual had a real world applications. Many nobility had such a great strain on their shoulders with keeping a country up, warring with neighboring countries, and keep your head intact. The court jesters role was to provide temporary relief from the stresses of daily life.

But lets try to get back to topic......

Reminds me of "Village idiots". Although idiot is not the same as jester. But I think you know what I mean:

That's great - hopefully will satisfy the "why are there no multiplayer missions?" camp.

Mind you - the campaign is well worth trying, even if you normally fly online.

I'll give it a try but I haven't gotten past mission #3 in any campaign except the BS2 Georgian Oil War one, where I think I got to 4-5 before getting bored. In any case, day 1 is usually a learn the machine day for me. I have some COIN missions for the L-39 and transport choppers I should be able to plug it into anyways.

I got some coop missions ready for the Gazelle already. I only need to add them to the flyable chopper list in the ME....

Was thinking of making my own (exhausted whole DCS files section for missions long ago), but am kinda short on time atm for such a project, would you mind sharing those, or?

The campaign that comes with the Gazelle is amazing and very well detailed. I actually voiced the audio for Hannibal that JTAC with a Drone that helps you find targets. But as stated in the documentation, the campaign is recommended only once your gotten used to the Gazelle's systems. Thankfully we have some great training missions to accompany the Gazelle that will teach you everything you need to know about starting her up, firings the weapons, and navigation.

I myself have a couple training maps I' converted for testing purposes which I find useful. I"m sure the community will provide tons more great missions to fly.

Well, he wasn't relying on some rookie French helicopter pilot to help him stay alive! :P

Right we have had our fun,

Please stay on topic " DCS SA342 Gazelle Project "

Off topic post will be removed.

Thanks

OK - but in fact these posts are all related to the Gazelle project - it's just that they are bits of it that most know nothing about (yet) ;)

These will be first for my fellow BSD pilots. :P Operation Licorne and Operation Harmattan need a bit of rework. Operation Chammal is coming next Monday... but without the Gazelle

While still in the "light" category of helicopters, the SA-342M is loaded down with some weight. She's got the Vivian sighting system, HOT3 missiles, and other components that make her heavier. So there are operational speeds you shouldn't go past otherwise risk structural damage.

But if you load up a Gazelle with half fuel, no HOT3 missiles, and a fun attitude - she'll do it. If I have time this weekend I'll make you a video.

Speaking of videos:

Why is there no footage with the gazelle flying faster than 200kmh?

Wasn't the Gazelle the fastest helicopter on the planet, once upon a time, iirc?

Yes, but it was before we mounted a big cubic camera on it, and added 500 kg of gear ;)

Currently, with combat payload, your max speed may be around 200-210 km/h, wind in the back.
