kelusk Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 KAI really knows how to make awesome looking jets. It's like a cross between every currently serving US fighter.
marcos Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 It's like an F-18/22 bastard child. The missiles look large compared to the aircraft. Maybe the perspective.
Jona33 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 It's like an F-18/22 bastard child. The missiles look large compared to the aircraft. Maybe the perspective. Canopy looks F-35ish. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
joey45 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 ..And that's what happens when to planes collied... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Pyroflash Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) What do you expect when seeking design cooperation from both Boeing AND LHM? Plus the idea was to build a medium range front line fighter to replace the KF-16, but with higher stealth capabilities that slightly surpass the EF-2000. The idea was not to build a super expensive F-35 or F-22A type project, but instead a low cost replacement for current fighters. This would probably explain the lack of internal stores. almonds Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 So basically they copied the F-22, F-35, F/A-18 and blended them together. "The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity... ...compromises must be made. Designers have to consider cost vs. fidelity and processor time vs. fidelity. Additional trade-offs must be made between graphics, AI, flight models, number of units and more... ...never ask the pilot what he wants to learn because he too will end up building an airplane. Instead, ask the pilot what he needs to learn." -Gilman "Chopstick" Louie
PeterP Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 No - they just designed it via computer-programs and put in their recommendations.

Pilotasso Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 That is what the koreans will be using to put pressure on F-35 negotiations. .

Pilotasso Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 No internal carrial, wing tip pylons, not much stealth in it. Makes me wonder why bother having faceted fuselage. The Chinese have a project which is almost identitcal to this one, F-60. .
RoaringBones Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Upon further looks..it actually looks pretty good heh..not often a crossover on a fighter Jet would look that good.
aaron886 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 not much stealth in it. Sounds scientific. :D I prefer jets that come loaded full of stealth. Stealth pouring out of the seams.

aaron886 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I like its shape, (visually) mostly cross of F-18 and F-22 You wouldn't see it as more of a cross between F-35 and F-22?
Kuky Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 You wouldn't see it as more of a cross between F-35 and F-22? nope, the wings/pylons/weapons and air intake remind me of F-18 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

KillarZ Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 No - they just designed it via computer-programs and put in their recommendations. I'm sure they took some ideas in terms of look from the F-22, F-18, and F-35. It resembles them too much. But I have to admit it looks sexy
topol-m Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 No internal carrial, wing tip pylons, not much stealth in it. Surely there isn't a weapons bay on the model but it looks like there is enough space between the intakes to accommodate one. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Napa Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Looks like a project similar to what Japan did with the F-16 being turned into a Mitsubishi F-2. S.
