Let's say that I don't install 1.2.1 until sometime in the future and 5 patches have been released through the updater. Will the initial installation package on the site be updated to the latest patched version?

Yes, they will be updated. No guarantee on when that might happen though so they might be behind a patch or two, dependant on the amount of auto-patches released. Your best course of action would still be to use the auto-updater if you wish to be current.

Hey Viper, is that the latest build? And is that different from the 1.2.0 water?

Yes, latest.

Different? No idea - do not remember that far back :D

In any event, there is good reason for every update so it is always advisable to stay current, especially if you are experiencing issues/have an issue to report, which would obviously always have to be reported on the latest build.

Thanks, I'm assuming the latest patch is comprehensive and includes fixes from the previous patches?

the water on High in 1.2.1 is tons better looking,

in MP Flights when we fly over the beach areas, thats all we talk about... how nice the new water looks.... at least until something shoots at us.

Thanks ED! Keep up the good work. DCS world + P-51 are now rocking on my not-so-updated computer.

Now about my flying skills... I think I need a patch for that too :D

Thanks ED,

you all did a nice job.

One question anyway.

Is the communication between A-10C and ATC normal? Had no chance to trying it now?

Cold ramp start: Permission for Engine start up is only granted when engines are spooling up.

First spooling up than permission from ATC.

Calling inbound i get now respond from ATC.

Thank you and keep up your great work:thumbup:

Great performance with all set to High..

But i noticed Tree Shadows seem to be missing. It might have just been the mission i ran... might have been noon. But i was down very low in the ka-50 and there were no shadows from trees but there were shadows from buildings. And yes, options has them turned on.

EDIT: Ok tree shadows are there.. just very faint.

The 'flicker' you see is the transition from a .blk model to an .edm model, nearly all the city structures render in this fashion in DCS and have done since it's existed.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If it's been this way since the existence of DCS, I feel like I would have noticed it by now.. Flying low over cities with the shark is a very different experience now with the flickering buildings, maybe it's just happening closer to the airplane, so now it's noticeable?

Also, I've noticed that the buildings turn pure black or pure white when zoomed in the TGP, depending on whether it's set on white hot or not. It's like the textures just don't show..

I'm just curious if anyone else is noticing this.

Thanks, love the auto-updater btw

EDIT: This is also not with the latest build so I apologize if this has been addressed. I downloaded the latest build last night not this morning.

This is another issue caused by ALT-TABbing IIRC.

I am still getting the hash mismatch error. Please, please, please tell me what is going on?

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Posted (edited)

I've also noticed you can "correct" it by jumping to lctl-f11 view and moving the camera in the direction the shkval is pointing. At some point as you move the camera the black buildings will be re-rendered and will look fine in the shkval thereafter.

Auto-update only checks once a day - use the update function in the DCS start menu entry to force an update.

Nate

Does not update me to 6192. I too am still stuck on 6148. No error message(s,) just no update. Anyone have ideas?

Update: good now, sorry. Seems that it matters how you run Updater. I was trying via directly running the .exe in the bin file. Don't do that; use the start menu link.

6192????? I'm, still at 6055 and it does not want to update !!!! Am I the only one with this issue? It's a clean install from scratch...even deleted the saved games folder.
