new apu sound is no improvement...on the contrary

 

You are familiar with what the real A-10's APU sounds like? From the cockpit, from the outside, or both?

 

Gau impact explosions look "comic" style...

 

The color is a bit off (too red & too yellow, not white enough), but other than that, it looks pretty similar to videos I've seen of real GAU-8 impacts. The color and frame rate issues aside, I think they're an improvement, although that doesn't mean that there's no longer room for improvement.

DCS World Update thread

 

I thought that it wouldnt make any sense to always create a new threat as soon as a new patch has been released, so what about using this thread to point to a new update and probably discuss it. I think that we will have a lot of patches ahead...so one dedicated thread should be good though.

 

Please post further patch notes and release announcements in this thread (I hope the Mods dont mind me :police:),

I run everything on high. I run at a resolution of 4080x2160. I export MFD's, cmsc, cmsp, clock, CDU, UHF preset, RWR, UHF Frequency and the preset on the UHF radio control head. All of these exports run to 3 touchscreens separate from my main screen. I use Helios and am using windowed mode and get in excess of 40+fps with a slight dip into the 30's when explosions are going off. Load times are way better with this update.

Great Job ED no complaints here at all!

That's good news for us multiscreen Helios users, Airdog !

Guys was that Hash problem solved? I saw Leroy's post.

I'm trying update and getting Hash mismatch msg all the time. I think it was posted before and general answer was try to update later. I tried several times and still the same.

Um...

 

1) Mouse cursor problem still present

 

2) Missiles still have blue/green flame/smoke

 

3) FPS still suck

 

4) P-51 tracers still wrong, and round impact wrong (she doesn't shoot 30mm guys!)

 

Not a happy guy right now.

 

 

Same here PLUS still getting black buildings when alt tabbing...which is needed alot for lots of reasons,so I like to be able to alttab the game as before.Frames have NOT changed in this build.What did this patch do anyway??

Running the A-10C Startup training Mission as a base, I'll note the Frame Rate at the initial briefing screen, the dip after unpausing, after the camera zooms out, and looking left and right.

After all this I got tired of it, So I Paused and went to free cam over Batumi, As Soon as the AI to the right of me + the buildings were off the screen FrPS Jumped to 75+, I got up to 100+ on 1 Screen, w/ Terrain still in view. Water didnt effect frame rate.

 

So it seems teh buildings or wingmen are causing the error.

 

 

No Amount of Tinkering Fixed this Issue with the Mouse Cursor flickering from Windows to the DCS "+" Cursor.

I have mentioned this before, but certain areas seems to hardcap the framerate and no amount of gpu power or visual setting tweaking will budge the framerate. This problem is most common around airdromes, especially those with the fortified hangars.

 

It would be really nice if we could get an explanation of the cause to this from the devs, but I have read from ed testers on this forum that this is likely due to the processor capping out and not being able to instruct the gpu fast enough. As far as I can tell only one core is doing the brunt of the work (maybe sound on the second core?).

 

EDIT: Just checked the server list and didn't crash out, and there are servers up everywhere :D, to bad I am from AU and have bad interwebs and 300+ ping.

All my squad mates and I have near half of FPS than in the previous version 1.2.0.

We have different sistems and cards and the issues are the same for everyone.

2 screens + Helios is a no go for me, and I was 60 FPS online on 1.2.0.....

I'm on 1.2.1.6120 after updating, no more stutter at start of missions or that pause, missions don't take longer to load either and my fps went from 12 to 14, still half of what I was getting before 1.2.1 which is a quarter of what I was getting with a-10c standalone (average 50 or 60 fps).

 

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I tried the preset LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH settings and each was the same thing 14 fps average, turned off MSAA, tried all the settings, lowered and turned up tree and bushes sliders, no change.

6120 is definitely a no go for me. I can`t even get to fly, the game either freezes or i get a BSOD while loading missions.

Just had a fly today with build 6120. Excellent stability (relative to what we have had in the past ;)) in the server with upwards of 10 people, frame rate improvements (for some not all), plenty of servers on the server list and have yet to crash at the master server list.
