+1 : A sticky closed thread, as Bzcel one, should be set in place. Several people complained about poor communication because EB1 statements get lost in the middle of chitchat and that may be a good solution. :)

+1  A great idea. EB is certainly doing his best to keep us updated, but it is true, his posts do keep getting buried. A sticky closed thread for EB only, ala DCS updates would be a great solution.

I've read every update from EB in this thread.

*Warning: Rage ahead*

Now all was good untill one of the developers came in showing us a fully licensed product and effectively taking away the only reason why there was no WIP media available yet.

So one would expect... But no! So people started to experiment themselves and this awesome product page was found only to be removed a couple of hours later....

So now EB asked for some pictures and I add my voice to this request.

A closed news & announcements thread as mentioned in the quoted text is a good idea, but would require a developer to post media or status updates there. That doesn't seem to be this company's policy. Every update so far came after people started to get impatient (no wonder that this thread 'Any new info?!' was created and became by far the largest thread in this subforum). It took a lot of effort to extract information from EB or at least that's how it feels...

I hope that the developers at Belsimtek finally wake up or find another acceptable reason to explain the lack of media. For example: our HQ was destroyed by a meteor. I would accept that without raising an eyebrow...

While we all wait for official screenshots and vids, that I'm sure will turn up soon. It seems one of our members has been messing with the DCS mission editor, and has managed to make quite a fun Huey vid in DCS World.

While I know this isn't the Belsimtek Huey, rather just the generic one already in sim, it's still quite good and gives us a little taster.

Thanks BBall.

Let me get this right. You're "raging" because no one has seen fit to release any fresh screenshots for a video game?

Raging?

Seriously?

I'm as excited as anyone for this module, but the growing hysteria around this and 1.2.3 is starting to get a little embarrassing. Come on, people - let's try to retain just a little perspective and dignity.

You clearly missed my point. And rage is of course not literally... come on, it's no Call of Duty forum!

I'm commenting on the way Belsimtek communicates with potential customers compared to other 3rd party developers. We have been asking for pictures a long time and there was a valid reason for Belsimtek not to release anything. Next thing they do is announce, or at least suggest that this obstacle is cleared.

Now what really upset me is that we find 8 pictures that were there for a long time and they even manage to take that away without clearly stating why we are not allowed to see them yet. Perfectly fine, if the papers were not yet signed, but why remove every media we find while there is no known reason for the lack of media... It doesn't make sense...

We'll see what happens...

The valid reason as the blocking by the legal issues..... you need some pacience with Bellsimtek to show images and videos.

Well they clearly suggested that the legal issues are no more. Now I'm not so sure...

Anyway we don't know. Bad communication results in speculation and should be prevented at all costs... Example: We find highly anticipated pictures that were removed without mentioning what the actual situation is around this complete lack of media...

Don't get me wrong, I am patient, but I'd like to know why I'm waiting and what I'm actually waiting for. Especially at the current sate of development...

the page was not yet intended to go public

I am missing the "lack of valid reasons." Those sound perfectly valid to me even if the legal issues are resolved. They will release more information when they are ready to release it.

Well I dont think thats ever been said, I think it was mentioned that we are looking at next patch 1.2.4 before release of this module, however that said, it was also stated that the aim is to get that patch out fairly quickly. Damn could even be next week.

My guess is next month, as we all know that patch release takes time, but it wouldnt be the first time that Ed has surprised us by releasing an aircraft when it wasnt expected.

All those speeches are nice but I found 3 main points that are way off from this virtual UH-1

- The blade curve is too pronounced and don't looks natural

- The landing skids are a bit too high

- When cyclic centered, the rotor disc should be a bit canted forward ( 1 or 2 degrees ). This is designed like that on real helis to keep an average " horizontal " fuselage attitude while in high speed cruise flight.

There is also no reason to assume that this patch will take less time than previous ones. One month is rather optimistic.

It depends on the content of the patch which, to the best of my knowledge, is a complete unknown at this point.

If it's a comprehensive, feature-and-fix laden patch like 1.2.3 it could take months. If it's "simply" delivering supporting functionality for the UH-1, it could take significantly less time.

My guess is that ED will be keen to start monetizing the UH-1 as soon as possible, so they'll probably try to prioritize a quick turnaround on 1.2.4. I have nothing to back that up, though. It's just my own perspective.

Yes but I feel Lucky today. ;)

Too be honest, im here for the longhaul anyway, so dosnt matter how long it takes.

Realisticly i agree, expect the same time it took to get us 1.2.3 at least that way when she turns up early we wont be disapointed.

1.2.4 could showup perfect tomorrow... WITH the Huey all rolled up and snug.. And someone on here would whine about it...

I support 1200 customers and own all the I/T / Machines etc. in my building and I THOUGHT I might get away from customer whining with this forum, but looks to be more of the same... Disappointing

Honestly, I don't care about the release date. Let it be 1.2.5 if that results in a tweaked Huey or an extra campaign...

I only criticise Belsimtek's way of communicating with the community if you compare it to any of the other 3rd party developers. Consider this: From all 3rd party projects the Huey is most likely going to be released first, yet we know the least about this product. A paradox? Can I please point this out without being called a whiner?

I hope Belsimtek understands what I'm trying to say. I'm not trying to offend anyone nor am I calling for Belsimtek to hurry up. Please, don't understand my intentions wrong again.

Now we will wait and hope that Belsimtek takes a bit of advice...
