I know what happens in DCS :)

You still don't need any form of TFR on missiles to deal with it. They're AAMs, not cruise missiles. You don't need to measure distance from the ground or know anything about the ground, other than your own ground-speed so that you can implement a doppler filter.

Want your missile not to dive so much? That was solved a very, very long time ago ... without altimeters or anything else of the sort :)

What's TFR, and how did they solve it then?

I know this has probably been asked but will any of the FC3 aircraft be upgraded to the asm (clickable/interactive cockpit) I know that they are working on the pfm for the aircraft but I haven't seen anything about adding clickable cockpits.

Afaik, none of the FC3 aircraft are going to get an ASM any time soon.

It would require a complex development process, access to specific data and authorization to include such systems in a public simulation/game (especially for the russian aircraft).

Belsimtek was considering a DCS F-15C for a time so there's an infinitesimal hope for this one ;)

Will there be more flyable planes with similar complication level to those of FC3? I've got A-10C, but it's just way too complicated - I just don't have time for learning how to fly it, nor fly the machine itself. FC3 has perfect lerning curve/complication level for me. Any chances to get new planes made in similar way?

I think Is what you mean is..

Can DCS make more playable "Teaching/learning" missions for download.

Like the 2 Russian aircrafts. None for the F15 or A10-A

And the "download from the user generated files" Has ben a REAL head ache for me.

No instructions as to WHERE to place the files, and how to use them.

EXAMPLE : how can a campaign have a &^%%$.mis file for the name?

Like f15 campaign with 15 missions for testing/ training, and not work when installed in user campains and missions.

I can't get a flyable air craft in the air (select one)

hi can the developers tell me what nvidia driver they use.

or the best.thx

It has been a long time since post... but I have recently updated mine, and seemed to

have taken a HUGE performance hit. Going to go back to the previous drivers...

Or it is due to having too many RED/BLUE planes up...

Will have to start a new thread.

With the F15C, I can't tune my ILS frequency like I can in the A10C. So is the ILS reading for the closest airfield? How do I know which airfield the ILS or HSI is taking me to? Thanks

Figure out the course heading for the airfield's ILS and take a guess based off that + distance.

I noticed new pdf files added to my fc3 documents folder... New a-10a manual, su-25 not the T model, and lomac v1.1 manual.

And in training folder for fc3 is video files and new folder for a-10a and f-15c training flights in the Nevada terrain

Very interesting developments if I do say so myself... I was wondering if anyone else noticed these

When I contact AWACS and request BOGEY DOPE he'd reply with something like this:

"Ford 1-1, Wizard, bra 174 for 3 at 2000, hot"

Obviously the call signs, bearing, range, etc are based on the situation. But how do I know if the bearing and range he gave me is in relation to my aircraft or to the bullseye?

Posted

BRAA is in relation to your aircraft.

He'll say 'bullseye x for y at z thousand' for bullseye.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Has anyone noticed the red, green and amber lights in the refueling pod of the IL-78? Is there some explanation written down somewhere that I could read to figure them out?

I'm not sure about the IL-78 in specific but they probably indicate the current state:

VBxvf7l.jpg

Green: Refueling beacon

Amber: Ready beacon

Red: Rotating beacon

At Precontact (this is before Contact), you'll see the steady amber light.

At Contact, the amber light goes off and the green light turns on.

When outside the refueling range (too far away, too near, to far to the left/right), the green light goes out and the amber flashes.

At an emergency disconnect the red light comes on.

Generally speaking, what is more maneuverable between the MiG-29 and Su-27?

The MiG-29 has a very slight advantage in terms of sustained turn rate and T/W ratio, compared at "combat weight". That's only a small part of the comparison though, since the MiG-29 has only 43% of the fuel capacity of the Su-27 and only 6 missile hard points versus 10 for the Su-27. The MiG-29 also has a shorter range radar and no head-down-display so all other things being equal it's harder to achieve decent SA in the MiG than it is in the Su.

Apart from the slightly better STR & P/W ratios, other advantages enjoyed by the MiG-29S are that it can carry the R-77 and that it sort-of has a search-while-track radar mode.

To give you an idea, Russia reportedly has a total of 50 MiG-29s of various types in service, whereas they reportedly have 359 Su-27s of various types in service.

Ultimately, late-series MiG-29s are probably amongst the best point defence & FEBA-CAP aircraft available anywhere, but as a general fighter aircraft capable of other missions such as escort, long range interception as well as PD and FEBA CAP the Su-27 series is superior.

System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Personal wish list: DCS: Su-27SM & DCS: Avro Vulcan.

I have searched and have had no good luck. I just got my warthog joy stick and controller.. I also have trackir.

I am trying to find a usable profile to use it with my FC3. I am new so please include exactly how I add them into what file, how etc... I was told by someone that I will need to change the file type to .exe and run it.... can someone please be a little more specific as to how to install and use profiles.. Do I change the name etc, to keep from messing up others etc... etc...

also Where are the folders located at that I put the new profiles in?? Please... I need someone to maybe hold my hand a little on this as I do not want to screw things up here..

Thank You

If someone fires an active guided missile at you (AIM120 or R-77 Adder) do you get a warning when the missile is launched or when the missile goes pitbull?

Posted
depends

If he is in STT you get a instant warning, but most of the egale drivers are using TWS so you only get a warning when it goes pitbull

Why is it that in TWS you don't get a warning at launch?
