Rhinox Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Community said they want more features. ED said okey. Do you think it is correct to announce release of a product and just AFTER THAT ask community? I'm really curious, because I'm working in software industry myself, and we do it in exactly opposite way: first we collect feedback from customers, ask them what they expect/want/need, then we create new software version and announce release... ...aside from some work that remains to be done on A2A missile AFM, you have had what was "promised" for months already. Are you seriously complaining about getting more at no extra charge? Correct me if I'm wrong, but was not multiplayer stability something community wanted badly (speaking now only for myself: more than anything else!)? Or do you mean we have had it "for months already"? Man, I have been online-playing DCS/FC since the old LOMAC-days, and honestly, never in all those years have I ever encountered so many server disconnects and random game crashes as in the last few months...
cichlidfan Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Lets hope that the G940 FFB will be fixed in next patch. I really can't imagine...only my opinion... Dejjvid Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) Darwin was a wise man, but obviously his theory is flawed... Want proof? Read this thread.. If you can't understand the difference between OPEN BETA and RELEASE/FINAL you should NOT buy the product. ED is one of the few developers that don't release beta titles as final versions. Don't pretend to be so *beeeeep* that you don't realize that. upupandaway Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I'm sorry- but people discuss things ALL THE TIME that don't have any impact on anything. Politics, death, religion, taxes, Russian meteors... Discussion is natural and without it I dare say forums wouldn't exist. Sure, you are right about that aspect, but my point was that the discussion got moved away from the "serious" part of the forum to a section that clearly mirrors its narrow focus on keywords like unkept promises, eternal beta, etc - not constructive contributions by the community. That was earlier. I don´t see the point in getting upset about something you have absolutely no way of influencing at this point and it´s largely cyrcling around what has been said a dozen times before... And a lot of people are arguing about the taken time to debug the network code... These problems are natural to have, the last patches brought CA and FC3 into DCSW. There is no patience on the internet... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!

So once more: Tuesday, 04 September 2012 DUXFORD, UK, September 1st, 2012 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics will release Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 for Windows PC in September 2012. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 Pre-Purchase Available Wednesday, 07 November 2012 04 September 2012 vs 07 November 2012! Clear enough?
Eddie Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Fine, we'll go back to ED releasing no information, news, updates or anything else at all then. Would that suit you better? Some people really are unbelievable.
SkateZilla Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) You're griping over 1 WEEK? seriously?. IIRC, there was a patch/bug issue that delayed FC3. Technically since it's not a GOLD release announcement, the beta testers and previewers HAD FC3 IN SEPTEMBER :p Edited February 18, 2013 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Fjordmonkey Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Apparently you write faster than read. Once again, would you like ED to release the patch and/or product prematurely? Yes or no. Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
agentkgb Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) 04 September 2012 vs 07 November 2012! Clear enough? So what? It is already history :) On the page, where you can actually buy the product, it is clearly stated, that it is a beta. For me, that means, that ED actually wanted to release as final, but the huge codebase and the integration of the modules created issues. So they didn't sell you this as a FINAL product. - RESPECT - Pre-Purchase also provides access to Beta versions of Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3. Please, just simply accept, that it is still a beta, and the majority of the community is very happy to try the beta, and help devs to get faster and better. In return, we can ask for new features, which were not in the original scope of this release. Fair enough, isnt't it? More than that... And I don't want to go deep into sw development stuff, but believe me, you're not the only one involved. Different scope, different size, different business model, I hope you try to compare apples to apples. We get more and more, because we ask for it. That is not for free and not for tomorrow. Big sw multis sell the first release as final. Then the patches/upgrades are released to actually finalize, and meet the demands. At least that is my view :) - KGB - Edited February 18, 2013 by agentkgb [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
