Wake me up when someone mods the slider that's used for zoom on the throttle, so that its smooth, if they havent already. ;)

I dont see the performance difference at first glance. Anybody else? It is kind of weird because the hotas is a extraordinary product and I don't see the need for preciser sensor.

I'd go for it if FFB worked correctly in DCS. :(

FSSB has nothing to do with FFB.

That is force sensing, not force feedback. The magnitude of the output is dependant on the force you apply, not on deflection of the stick. That is the difference.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Cichlidfan, what this thing does is it effectively converts your warthog from a "moving" stick to a stationary, force-sensing, one. That is, you issue cdommands through applying force to the stick, not through the stick actually moving anywhere, For this reason, FFB is pointless.

EDIT: Pileup! :D

Here we go. Warthog mods starting to appear. :) I remember back in a day something similar came out for Cougar. I was anxious to get it until I've heard this mod is ok for fly by wire planes and not suitable for ww2 or prop planes. Has anyone used fssb with fsx or cod for example?

I modded my Cougar but with the U2NXT hal sensor mod. A massive improvement on the original hotas without a doubt.

I still prefer the feel the cougar stick has now over the hog. The warthogs center is just to rigid for my liking. Just my opinion. I'm only flying A10 now so I use the hog for its plug and play ability. Cougar gathering dust.

The Falcon guys were big fans of these FSSB type mods.

If we ever get DCS:Viper, it'll be on my shopping list for sure. The old FSSB mod for the Cougar was fantastic.

That is of course if TM don't make another HOTAS.

I might have to look into the R3, after two years of use my Warthog centering and feel is awful now (striped it down and found out that the pressure ring is perishing).

I know the FSSB R3 MOD will probably work (feel) great with the the DCS fixed wings, but im curious as to how it will work with the DCS KA-50 trimming.

I also play ROF and i think using something like the FSSB for a first world war sim would feel really weird.

I'm wondering how the FSSB R3's feel will translate to non fast mover aircraft and helicopters ?.

The Warthog is a good stick but in many ways i dislike using the heavy centering(and my now sloppy) Warthog with the fast jets...... The A-10C feels ok with the standard Warthog but the BMS F-16 would definitely be improved with the FSSB mod..... trouble is i fly a lot of KA-50.

Hopefully it's just a case of retraining muscle memory... but it would be nice to eliminate the Warthog's centering problems once and for all

Maybe find some repair parts? You mean the spring element that centers the Stick?

No it's the thin anti buffer disk that fits on the underside of the pressure plate, i already have the part sourced from Thrustmaster (SPARE PART NUMBER: 201301150023). In the meantime i've repositioned the disk so i'll hopefully get a little extra time out of it until it's replacment arrives

However i'm really looking for a long term alternative solution and the FSSB R3 could be it, unfortunately it's not a cheap option either.

However i like ROF and play the KA-50 most of the time, i've been digging around and a lot of people dont like the force sensing stick's for WW1 and WW2 style flight sims..... On the other hand the fly by wire BMS people love them, personally i don't like the standard Warthog whilst playing BMS...

I'll just have to think about it find out for myself if i decide to make the FSSB R3 financial plunge :smilewink:.................... and work some overtime to pay for it:(

FYI, The new pressure ring can be ordered from Thrustmaster for $25 shipped... Also, a replacement button cost about the same... Yeah, that's expensive...

You can fly without the ring though, it's there to make the center softer....

Yeah it's expensive, UK price with shipping and VAT added on top would come to £500 ($795) !!!.

Maybe one day, however in the meantime i've ordered a replacement pressure ring...
