Well this thread is way off track.

Anyhow, since we're on this, the biggest troubkle debating why any FSuX platform combat jet can never be a tactical combat in a fully simulated combat envirnoment, the biggest problem, is most of the folks I debate the point with have never flown say FBMS, DCS A10C or even Janes F18, so they have no frame of reference, in other words, they simply dont know WTF they are talking about.

My specs:  W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.

I fly both (hell i even develop for one) and i see equal potential and capabilities for both sides. Do I still not know what I am talking about ;) ?

The potential for FSuX is only theoretical, pending FSX@War and what it may do.

Do you know what you're talking about? Dunno. That's your own affair. :-P

Does anyone know when Flaming Cliffs 3 will be released? Not the beta, but the full game? I just want to know when they will start developing the F-15C and then the F/A-18C!!!!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they have been developing both of them for quite some time now. That's the beauty of parallel development cycles. You don't cement yourself into any one thing at a time.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

How are folks flying an F/A18 right now in DCSW? Links please to this mod.

well, you can change models pretty easy, just check the mod forum.

But yeah, the new planes are (most likely) already in development and has been for quite some time.

Dear ED Team, i hope that when it is released the DCS F/A-18C could finally see again the vapor trails effect, possibly like these:worthy::worthy::worthy::

Can't wait for the Charlie! Really excited to see what ED do. Especially since I can't go back to FSX after lots of DCS, looks cartoony to me.

As for the people arguing over FSX and DCS, while VRS do nothing short of an amazing ****ing job(~500 Hrs VRS Rhino) keep in mind that the FSX engine is no longer being developed. DCS' engine is still tweaked and added on to. So instead of hacking it into the game there is more of a chance of it being integrated at the engine level.

OOOOhhh, I wish I had the Alpha of a Hornet!

My favorite aircraft, i don't know if i prefer the Hornet or the Super Hornet, both are awesome.

High Alpha perspective, yeah !!!

We absolutely need vapor effect on wings and vibration in cockpit during hard turn with this big flying bug !!!

I just hope it will be release before the F15C cause we already have the FC3 version.

I think it will be release in the same time than Nevada, but both Nevada and next fixed wing US Aircraft was already announced since a lot of time and take a huge delay, i just hope we will see the Hornet before 2014 or Q3/Q4 2013, but sadly i don't really think it will be release for this summer :/

Hurry up and take my money ! :joystick::D

From Dos Gringos :

I wish I had the alpha of a hornet

Living to fight slow when others scorn it

When I can still pitch and roll

That other guy's going out of control

I wish I had the alpha of a hornet

I have those sims so I can have an opinion here, BTW the future for that stuff is going to be prepare3d.

Can't wait to go for that first rip in an RCAF coloured bird . Even shooting missed approach's are a blast when you have burners lol.

As a side note, I hope that the Canadian fighter squadrons are updated. Only 3 now consisting of 410, 409, and 425 sqn. 433, 416 and 441 no longer exist.

It's a lot easier than you might think. Just get the patch, make the surrounding area transparent (most of the time the magic wand works great for this purpose), reduce to 128x128 and save as a PNG. Editing the datafile is even easier.

Take a look at my USA squadrons mod as an example.

Ya know, you could just kill some time with seven-g when it comes out.

I'm sure the next DCS Aircraft will be release before Seven G...

Maybe the first DCS Aircraft will be the Eagle and Seven G will be release before DCS F/A-18C, but Seven G project have a huge delay and will not be release before Q2/Q3 2014

The Seven-G project looks more and more like Duke Nukem, that's a pity. Could be awesome.

Perhaps we have F/A-18C or the F-15C this year. But then again, when Wags give an estimate a big part of the community take it as a fact.. So i don't think he'll do that again.

Academic licence is $49.95. But I think, when you're not some official student or whatever, it's actually not legal to use such software. LM claims that P3D is NOT for entertainment purposes and a lot of FSX developers refuses to start developing for P3D because of it (some legal stuff...). Of course, you can buy it, use it and don't give a duck about some EULAs.... but I don't think P3D is going to save the (simulation) world.

Agreed. The AVSIM et all community will have to continue to cling to their False Gawd.

Trying to get this thread back on track. What will you guys do first with the F/A-18C? I will most definitely do carrier ops online non-stop. I am also hoping that Thrustmaster releases a F/A-18C or F-15C joystick attachment. That would be amazing!

Print the manual :) (ok really probably take off from a carrier then crash into it trying to land... if Carrier Ops are added that is :) )

With the F/A-18C and carrier ops should bring in more new flyers into the DCS world. My old squad of 25 squaddies, they fly planes with a hook on it in Il2 :joystick:. They said they will move over to DCS when and if this happens. :pilotfly:

1. Hop into the aircraft

2. *I don't need any stinking manuals*

3a. Crash or

3b. Unable to start

4: Open manual

That's the same procedure I follow....
