Dcs is very good, in some aspects but fsx is good in another, at the moment Orbx has better scenery then dcs, rex essentials is great and makes sky colours better then dcs and could's and the fact you have the whole world to fly in.

But Dcs has awesome highly accurate aircraft, like A-10 Huey Ka-50 P-51 soon the Fa-18 then the Su-27 and F-15C.

Well it is better than no F-15E.

FSX does have the advantage compared to DCS in some categories. Until I can fly a DC-3 across Alaska in DCS I'll keep playing it.

I hear the new "Nevada" map is going to include Alaska as a DLC.

Jokes aside, I'm sure someone will make a Bering Strait map, seeing as how it was (especially cold war), and still is (fairly certain both sides still send stuff probing up there every now and again), a major point of contention between North America and Russia.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Anyone have any decent YouTube videos of this? I'm not in any real hurry to dump $99 into P3D unless it preforms wonders. I'm very hesitant to invest into anything MSFS till P3D 2.0 is in the wild with it's supposed updated scenery options.

I haven't seen any. I am really tempted to give it a shot.

I'll bet your dad is happy that you don't want to build a pit for an airliner. ;)

After flying the PMGD 737 for nearly 2 years Im not that excited about the 777 the reason being it just looks like and basically is a stretched 737 with a drab brown cockpit. So if you own the 737 your getting extra mileage , longer legs.

Now what I am looking forward to is the 747v2. There is just something special about the 747's

4 engines for a start

Im waiting for the 747 v2 as well. Ill still pick up the 777 but there is something special about the Queen

its hard to pay for scenery when there is so much great free stuff like blueskyscenery. But I don't do much if any virtual flying outside the US so I'm biased.

say what you want, but right now I am so sick of the terrain in DCS I struggle to strap in and fly with it....I love the complexity of the A-10C but won't spend another penny until they develop and release new terrain.

I don't know why it bothers me so much but it sure does.

I'm having fun flying the FSX OV-10 Bronco and PMDG 737ngx. In many ways, those smoke what DCS can do right now (yes, minus the combat aspect).

It's quite nice, but a bit expensive. If you do a lot of flying in areas not covered by any other Orbx product it is certainly worth it. It improves the feel of the sim quite a bit.

Im sorry to say that I agree with you gear_monkey, I love DCS, but Im so tired of the old scenery that I find myself spending more time on other sims. New DCS modules are great, but what we really need is some new scenery. And some tools, so people can start developing new sceneries.
