The $250 pledge makes no sense in this regard. At $150 you get the B or C, but if you want both it is an extra $100.

Everyone has to decide what level of contribution makes the most sense to them.

Ok cool. But is the beta access only available to the people who contribute to the kickstarter or also to people who buy it when it's in beta?

There have been no mentions of a pre-purchase of a retail module with beta access. I'm sure they will do that, but until an announcement is made I assume that this is it.

It is not about level of contribution. From the $100 pledge, if you add $50 you get one aircraft but to get two aircraft you have to add $150 (@ $75 per aircraft). It will be cheaper to wait for the retail purchase if you wanted both.

So the $250 contribution doesn't make sense to you.

Where as it made sense to me. I'm still debating if I will jump up to $500 as I'm not sure if that level makes sense to me, though it does to others based on the kickstarter page.

It's not about price per aircraft, if that is all it was about I would wait for the 2015 DCS Summer sale.

Eagle13 : If you get enough fundings for doing carrier ops, have you already thought of what you'll implement?

Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?

We will build CVN 78 - its the only carrier to date that can "trap" UCAV and we want to implement the X-47B so that will be available in the editor.

Hi Mike, I've been very good through the years of raising funds. If we don't get the Kickstarter then I will use all of my energy to secure funding through conventional means or through other revenue streams in my company. I went this route to involve as many of the end users as we could in the design process. Something I really believe in. I want all of us to fly and test then release it to the world. I thought this would be a new experience for most flight sim users - getting involved on the ground floor.

Thanks Mike - we'll get there my friend

Eagle13, you mention getting folks involved... For what it is worth, I would be very interested in getting more involved with this project.. Obviously lots of folks are up for testing as this project moves forward and I am no different, but I would also be willing to work on more mundane things such as editing, proof-reading documentation etc... Creating and documenting processes and procedures is a major part of what I do for a living so please keep me in mind!

Good Luck with the Kick Starter!

And you probably couldn't tell the difference

I could tell you the difference: in the A10C I can take be in the air in a min of 4 minutes (optimizing the whole thing) that is already a risible amount of time; in FC3 I can take off in seconds (fromt he taxiway eventually..); in A10C I have to setup the whole armament profiles to suits the mission, in FC3 it's basically a click and shot.. to not talking about the flight model (luckily the said they are going to adjust it in the future..).

And this is about aircrafts that have been around by a while, so you have more chances to collect info, to replicate them with a certain fidelity. Now think about the F35.. are we going to have an aircraft based on the youtube videos and a simulator session?

Honestly I hope the project doesn't reach the min amount, nor because I want to see that company failing, but because it could open the doors to any sort of flying sausages into DCS: we need ppl to develop something GOOD *before* and then being accepted into DCS World.. nor the opposite.

Thank you Mr Kinney. I agree with you 100%, Getting the flight sim community involved is a great way to get this project started.

Being part of a project like this and getting the opportunity to watch it go from some 3D drawings to an actual full functioning animated flight model the will absolutely dominate is way too cool to miss out on.

Even if the kick starter fail's with the funding goal, I would still like to contribute as much as possible with this project. :D

Sounds good Outlawal2 - as you can see I'm an engineer not an editor (smile) There will be a lot a review required on the manuals

We got a nice post on Flightsim.com http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?13931-Announcing-F-35-Lightning-For-DCS-World

I see the signup link takes you to the kick starter page... Since I have already pledged and am currently a backer, is there anything else I need to do at this point to better my chances at working with you folks? Or should I just wait and see how things go?

And after further consideration, I have CANCELLED my $100 pledge..

(And have RE-SIGNED back up with the $250 option instead...)

Well that certainly MAY be true, but I have had numerous issues with online payment systems (NOTHING to do with these kind folks but other systems online) so I wanted to make CERTAIN that I didn't have any issues. I want to help support this project but I don't want multiple pledges by accident causing me to go broke!

From all responses Eagle gave, it appears to me he knows what he is talking about.

I was also very impressed by the models posted recently.

All tough the F-35 is not my favorite plane, and I hate that my country (Holland) has chosen this one to replace the F-16 I'm very curious to the end product.

Also, as a big fan of DCS I will do anything possible to support ED and its third party developers.

So... Eagle, my $80 pledge is on its way.

Hi Outlawal2 - contact me through the Kinney Interactive Web site so we can stay in touch. Pretty busy now, but that doesn't mean your interest is not important to me. Thanks again, Eagle
