I never ran the update to 1.2.4.14196.167 based on the comments here.

I ran the auto-updater just now to see if it would pick it up. The updater wants me to update to 1.2.4.12913. I'm already on 1.2.4.12913?!

That´s what I just did, but it installed 1.2.4.14196.167 and not 1.2.4.12913

You could while it was the "latest".

Tomorrow DCS will ask you to update to 1.2.4.12913.

Yep. It's a side-effect of forcing the older version for those who picked up the 14196.

A usability issue that should be fixed.

I didn't had time to do the update yet but, c0ff, the problem with the Sidewinder joystick was fixed on this update?

My prompt last night (that I declined cuz i need to backup my 3rd party work first)

Said "A new Update Version x.x.x.x.xxxx is Availible Update?"

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

How is complaining about it?

Bit confused.. has this update been retracted, so the most recent update now is what we had on the 26th?

Yes - it's been pulled off - due to , well , 'problems'.

EDIT: I think that it would be the best to post a somewhat official explanation what happened - and just close this thread - so no more users that just start their weekend get confused.

EDIT #2:

c0ff - ED-Team:

1.2.4.14196 was pulled because of the problems...

1.2.4.14196 was pulled because of the problems with UH-1H module.

1.2.4.12913 is the most recent version once again.

Sorry for the mess.

Interesting how one develops a nose for bad updates within this forums...

...and luckily, I didn't pull it down to my tweakedbitch... :smilewink:

Thanks to all the users that sadly did and wrote their complaints in this thread, you saved a couple of hours of my life & I am very gratefull on that...

Update applied.

SP Create Fast Mission .. UH-1

Load times for Splash and Mission are restored to "normal".

FPS in mission restored to "my" normal at least.

Looks like the problem created by the prior update is corrected, at least for the UH-1.

The question's gotta be "What Happened?" where a bad update was published by ED.

DCS World will only become more complex with the additional modules and updates planned. IMO it's a fair question; what's being done to assure that update problems a la yesterday won't happen in the future?

Wags??

This update isn't an update. It's just a fall back for the last update for the people who updated to the last update. Those who didn't update with the last bugged update don't need to update because they already have the update.

Clear? :D

is it so complicated to think to test new updates before to release them to public ?!

I don't think that it is so difficult to image..

I am sorry for the critic, but not everybody is so lucky to have fast connections, so it means that yesterday evening one of my friend had to update (so wait hours for it) and this evening, after a work day, he will receive the surprise to discover that he did all for nothing and he will have to lose another evening for to "come back"...

ps: i am glad of the funtion of autoupdate, much much better than in the past, but please, be more careful next time before to release an update..

thank you

Can someone please explain how 'no content change' can cause this mess?

For technical reasons we will be forced to push today's update to keep retail versions compatible with online versions. There are no content changes.

..I personally think that Frank Drebin did a pretty good job to explain things like this: >>> :D 5NNOrp_83RU

...why not stick to it?!

BTW:

I was not harmed at all -

I just came back home from a longer trip and thought 'nice !- a update'

.. - but than I thought:

"well , easy boy - hold your horses - your own first mod upload is also never the final..... -first lets see what the other 'guinea pigs' say"...

- so I had some "questionable entertaining" and I made a backup, just to be prepared...

- and waited (as always since 1.2.1) at least 24 hours (while observing the forum) to say finally "Yes" to the updater.

Well, seems that this strategy paid off once again. - what did you, cichlidfan ?!

... I also feel sorry for all that folks that don't visit the forum and know nothing about why they have now the long loading times... and how to re-run the updater again ...- and have to maybe wait 24 hours that the auto-updater will cure this- but they use the time to write one 'support-ticket 'after another... - and also exchanging ram, hard-disks and whatever .. maybe even beating their children and wife - just because they need to 'vent' while they 'waste' time... -

... and I feel also very , very sorry for the support-staff at ED, that is now overwhelmed by support-tickets at a Friday....

..but besides this, ..I don't get why you call this a "mess" ?!
