element1108 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) No scripted landings, jet thunder if it ever gets releases will probably be a fun sim survey sim. Who doesn't want to fly the harrier? They do need to take that pointy arrow thing off the HUD though. Even in "simple mode", get it off the heads up display, critical information there. Edit: sim hq article says jet thunder has a publisher and a 2010 release date planned. Aerosoft....publisher. Full startup on harrier modeled. Edited October 18, 2010 by element1108
EagleEye Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 What Dante (Thunder Works) wrote at Aerosoft forums about the arrows: Don't worry, that was stuff needed by request from publishers of Games. However, Aerosoft is a publisher of true sims which means the arcade feel will go away. Agg Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Sounds good, I guess Im going to buy it if its true that it has full start up of the Harrier modeled.
GGTharos Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 WHere did they get (at minimum) EM charts for the Mirage? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
mikoyan Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 WHere did they get (at minimum) EM charts for the Mirage? Jet Thunder has been welcomed with lots of expectation form the Argentinean people; I wouldn't be surprised if they got the charts form the Argentinean Air-force. The sim was presented on the news recently since part of the team is form argentina.
IvanK Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) "WHere did they get (at minimum) EM charts for the Mirage?" From me GG :) Here is a single example. The Terms "Amber extinction" are AOA limits as the Mirage III used a colour light system to indicate AOA. Edited October 19, 2010 by IvanK 1
IvanK Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Here you go Bartleby Sea Harrier FRs1 VSTOL HUD Symbolgy Another this one showing a guided approach using MADGE which is a Microwave ILS type system. Ships course is 150 The cross represents the Ship location. The circle with legs on the Left hand side is a range clock with Decel range cues annotated on the circumference. The cross should overlay the CV this is positioned by Radar lock or the Aircrafts NAV system. Edited October 19, 2010 by IvanK
GGTharos Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Cool! :) I have been looking for Mirage Operator's Manuals ... I found one somewhere, but in general they appear to be quite hard to come by :( "WHere did they get (at minimum) EM charts for the Mirage?" From me GG :) Here is a single example. IvanK Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) These guys have a good set of Mirage III manuals. You wont find EM diagrams in them though :) http://www.flight-manuals-on-cd.com/MirageIII.html If you are only getting 1 CD then CD2 is the one to get. The RAAF manuals there are the very last edition just before the aircraft went out of service. The Blue manuals on CD1 are the first edition RAAF flight manuals. Edited October 21, 2010 by IvanK
TAIPAN_ Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Jet Thunder Anyone been following this sim of the falklands war? http://www.thunder-works.com/ Aerosoft are going to publish it by end of this year I've heard. Although I think it may only be the Harrier initially, with more planes coming on board over time. Pimax Crystal VR & Simpit User | Ryzen CPU & Nvidia RTX GPU | Some of my mods

element1108 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Some news regarding Jet Thunder and it's Jan 2011 release... http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=41424&st=0&p=275285entry275285 Also outlines what airframes are included... Jan 2011 first release (Ground Attack) June 2011 Second release (Air to Air combat) September 2011 third release (the rest) Looks like MP won't be available until the final boxed version is released in September. It's also 50% cheaper if you wait until Sept and buy everything all at once which is a bit backwards I guess, but those who are enthousiastic to try it out (me) will end up paying the additional cost to receive it sooner. ... I'm actually REALLY looking forward to seeing this as I've been following it for freaking YEARS already hehe. Edited December 13, 2010 by element1108
Agg Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I agree that it seems a bit backwards that you have to pay more if you buy all three releases separately, but I really want to fly the Harrier, so Im sure Ill buy all three releases when they are released.
104th_Crunch Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'll wait for the first A2A addon. No A2A and no MP in initial release. I want A2A darn it :)
element1108 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'll be sure to let you guys know how it is. I really want to fly that turboprop...I have no idea why. :pilotfly:
McVittees Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 That is really odd. Surely you'd entice people to buy it now so you can generate cash flow? element1108 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Addics, enthousiasts ... what's the difference ;)
104th_Crunch Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Yes, addicts. In spite of my previous comment, if this is anywhere near a high level of realism and simulation, I will buy it as soon as it is released.
element1108 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Jet Thunder's realism level is probably on the minds of almost every single air combat sim player out there. We've all read the press releases on it, but haven't seen anything resembling a "high fidelity" sim from the video's released.. Aerosoft's attachment gives me some confidence, but we'll see.
hassata Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Really for me, realism=DCS A10. don't think it can be surpassed for home based PC [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I'll be sure to let you guys know how it is. I really want to fly that turboprop...I have no idea why. :pilotfly: Hahah, yeah, I'd have mirrored Pilotasso's sentiment if it wasn't for the inclusion of the Pucara in the initial A2G release. I love that plane! It may not be a jet, it may not kill Migs, and it isn't much faster than a Cessna, but... it's such a beauty! :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
