Hello folks,

I think we're going to do two development updates per week.

Fridays will be our 3D development updates: planes, cockpits, vehicles, and so on.

Tuesdays will be our landscape development updates where we'll be looking at our Normandy as it takes shape.

We have a lot of stuff you haven't seen yet, especially in the 3D category, so hopefully these won't get boring or stale for a while.

Today: first look at our Tiger I tank.

Nice Tiger ... needs MG34 and correct unit markings.

Preferably Waffen-SS, since most Tigers in Normandy were.

Will this be in-game detail? If so, that's pretty amazing!

Brings back memories of the T-34 vs. Tiger game ...

damn sniping AI T-34s that could see through trees!

I wonder if there will be any radio calls from the ground units, asking to hit those tanks...coordinates and such, maybe on the kneepad pages is workable short of that

Okay, so if this is SS-Unterscharführer Willy Fey's (disputed Knight's Cross holder) tank it should have s.Pz.Abt 102, IInd SS Panzer Korps unit markings ... being a pink Sig-rune (pics in spoiler below).

Other than the "134" not having the correct unit markings and wrong camo pattern for s.Pz.Abt 102 (wave pattern), the displayed camo pattern is pretty common for 1944 Normandy;

"By 1944 virtually all German armour was painted in the official scheme of a sand base. Camouflage on top of that was at the discretion of unit commanders, they were provided green and rust brown paint for the purpose, patterns were up to them but irregular blotches and stripes were pretty common."

Bring on the Tommy cookers!

FACs would be awesome!

Ilya, how will the 3rd party content like ground objects and AI-aircraft be integrated into DCS? Will people be able to use these objects for mission building on different maps? And if so, do they need to be customers of DCS-WWII or will it be made available to all DCS customers?

P.S.: Apologies if these questions are answered somewhere but I don't have the time at the moment to read through all of the forums/kickstarter.

I second that, we are spoiled by control of the vehicles.... please tell us you plan that as well :)

Ilya mentioned earlier that at some point it will come, but not with the initial release :noexpression:

How about the Combined Arms Compatibility? Can I use it as a JTAC?

Was there much communication between front line troops and fighter bombers in 1944??
