Revvin Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I posted a thread earlier referring to Luthier's inactivity here, I wasn't rude, I didn't call anyone nasty names I just pointed out that its been over two weeks now without any kind of update from Luthier and that got deleted, someone else's thread was locked and another thread moved into another forum. Mods> We'd just like to hear from Luthier even if its just to say they are still working hard and will have an update as soon as they can but this silence is deafening and reminds me of the periods Luthier went AWOL in the 1C forums after the Cliffs of Dover release. Many of us paid in to the kickstarter in the hope that Luthier could realise his dream and make a sim that we would all enjoy, I don't think anyone expects daily updates or even the weekly ones he planned but some new would be nice.

We dont need a bunch of "Where is my update" threads every week, if you look in the Terrain post a new screenshot was shown, I know its not from Luthier, but its an update. Things are going to be slow to start.... but I will tell you what... I will leave this thread here... and merge any other requests for updates into this one as they come, fair enough? :) Remember, the project is very young, interesting updates might be hard to come by right now, not to mention we have seen Luthier isnt eager to share early WIP images as he wants them to look their best before public consumption.... 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
JtD Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Updates don't have to be best looking pictures. A few lines, a little dialogue with the supporters / customers also do the trick.

Well there is the trap, everyone has different levels of need when it comes to updates, I have seen updates from ED that I thought were great and people just slammed them... so yeah... its not so cut and dry.... Revvin Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 It doesn't have to be an official update with pictures, just popping in every now and then and telling us how things are going or perhaps a nice feature they are working on. This early on I think Luthier set himself up for a fall by mentioning two weekly updates this early on but no communication at all is not the answer either.

20thBG_Blackwolf Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Updates I wanted to post on this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116272 but its locked. My thought is I'd rather wait a month or more for an update that can show us '44's progress. I don't care about a twice a week "we think we can do this" A once a month or more of "Here is what we have done" would be just fine. I'm sure llya is going eight directions at once right now. Give the team time to get it together, ducks in a row as it were and then I'm sure we will see some progress and some updates. Have faith backers. tronchaser Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 After going through some of the posts here I think I understand now why Ilya was really hesitant on giving alpha access as one of the rewards.

Revvin Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Official thread  *popcorn.gif* Yes a rather childish update to the title by one of the mods because I dared to criticise
Wolf Rider Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 all's good Revvin... it was a childish thread to begin with  City Hall is easier to fight, than a boys' club - an observation :P "Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us." - Jefferson "Give a group of potheads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of, and they'll quickly turn into engineers... its simply amazing." Revvin Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Asking for an update from the developer and asking mods not to delete a reasonably worded request for that update is childish? Strange world you live in.
159th_Viper Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 all's good Revvin... it was a childish thread to begin with  I'm with Revvin on this one: RRG studios have a legal obligation towards their backers to fulfil the rewards as outlined in the kickstarter campaign: Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project? Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. This is what creators see before they launch: We crafted these terms to create a legal requirement for creators to follow through on their projects, and to give backers a recourse if they don't. We hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill. The reward in question as expressly contracted to by RRG is as follows: ....access to the backer section with weekly development updates, videos, and more..... No update = breech. It's really that simple, nothing childish about it. If anything, it should act as a wake-up call. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Kuky Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Viper has a point... it's easy to promise things, much harder to deliver on them... and as they say talk is cheap :) I'm not gonna start complaining if there isn't update exactly every week as promised as I am sure they are and will be very busy now... need to give little buffer on this though and not take it 100% literally ... that's my opinion PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
bongodriver Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 What exactly are people trying to achieve? do we just want Luthier to hand back all the money, cancel the project and leave all WWII flight sim development to 1CGS?
Revvin Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Look, all I asked for was an update, I made no threats, I did not use vulgar language, didn't call anyone names. I just pointed out that Luthier had been - until yesterday inactive on the forums since the 16th and made reference to what I felt was over zealous moderating in closing/deleting/moving threads of a similar ilk. I feel the moderator title edit of this thread is just another opportunity to poke fun at those requesting an update - it may not have been meant that way but that's how I took it. My previous thread was deleted without any explanation. You'll see from my posting history I've been a long time supporter of ED starting with the original Flanker sim right through to DCS. I'm not throwing my toys put of the pram and making demands or posting to make mischief, just a simple request for an update. ED have put their name to this title and anyone working under it should remember their actions or lack of them can also reflect badly on ED. As we know there are a few people out there who will take every opportunity to talk this title down, is it really wise to give them an open goal to shoot at by not interacting with a community that have already stumped up cash for this title? 1
ishtmail Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Yes, the most basic pledge rewards ($1 level) are at this point not being delivered, so people have a right to feel aggravated at the situation. I am not angry at this point, more concerned at this lack of communication, maybe even worried that something happened to Ilya.
