@SiThSpAwN

In the beginning I had issues because I have many interfaces connected together thrue usb. Windows sometimes after restarting or other fague reason took initial off center settings from the registry. So maybe this will help you too, they worked on my x55.

clean registry settings for your saitek joystick.

[edit] Just in case, for unknown reasons usb2 ports behave more consistent then usb3 on my rig.

Anyone had an issue with the stick being off center when jumping into an aircraft? Should I be calibrating more often or might there be another reason for this? Or is there something else going on? I have seen this in DCS and IL2:CloD

It's mechanical fault , just qooqle bit and you see why.. cheap engineering =saitek :music_whistling:

"

The concept of the stick (stock) is millimetric planed ...the problem is the non-so millimetric acurate production quality, meaning that the magent holding "hat" (as seen in picture below) is only pushed over the shaft and due to resistance by the cables (if moving) it sometimes shakes resulting in an off-center phenomon. I noticed it the first time as i opened the HUD software and released the stick back to middle but the "cross" was not centered.

THAT is the problem on the stock. One can compensate that easily with deadzones..but thats not the goal, is it?"

Hall sensor stick and you need deadzones ..huh!

Same at New Egg statement is the product is no longer available.

Great and I just got mine yesterday  Im happy to get it but if they come out with a new model just when I got mine that sucks!

They may do a recall if it's a hardware issue, if not...who's to say the "new version" will be better than your version. It's nice you have it to play with, many who pre-ordered don't (trying to stay positive here)

They did say first run was very limited (300 -/+)

Mine is still going strong no complaints here.

Yeah, I have to think its more likely they are just out, and the next order might be a ways away. Mine is working better than I could have hoped for.

Well if they happen to link them again, you won't hear any complaints from me. Always thought it was stupid to loose the mode switch to the stick. Modes only work in the throttle which in my opinion was a definite step backwards.

Hi,

Saitek is making a fool of itself.

It´s just a "lousy" joystick and within 6-7 (!) month after the announcement they are not really able to deliver it.

Not very professional for a worldwide operating company.

November 2013 - announcement and video

- Preorder for early 2014 (some handmade ?)

- Available April (Saitek and amazon)

- Available May (amazon)

- Available ??? (amazon)

I dunno, how much wisdom does it take for people to remember that its probably not a good idea to be there for the first release of anything like this?

I would never want one of the first 300 of anything, except maybe a supercar.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Not sure if either of you have this flight stick, but I do and its been very very good so far, I havent had any real issues beyond my own learning curve, so I am not sure what all the hate is about... but its not useful to this thread if you dont own the stick.

So far, with "the first release" there is no evidence that Rhino is having any major flaws. I am not afraid to buy new things, and I am ready to invest little extra time and money to make things work the way I want them to work. Your thinking is fundamentally flawed, because, somebody has to buy thing first, regardless of the amount of wisdom involved. You are just type of the person not willing to buy (some) things early. And that's fine. But, I would disagree big time, that people who buy early, somehow, has a lack of "wisdom syndrome".

Even here, you do admit that you would be early adopter, for things that you like and are probably very familiar with. And that's fine for you. Because, in my mind, I would say "I dunno, how much wisdom does it take for people to remember that its probably not a good idea to be there for the first release of anything like this (supercar)?" :)

Hi,

I don´t see any hate in my words. I see that the stick is not really available and a company with a bad marketing.

This isnt the first product to become unavailable until more units are available.. as for the bad marketing... I am not sure where that is coming from, but again, useless to this thread.

Why not? I used the X-52 for 3 years and was happy with it, now someone else is very happy with it.

I slapped my X52 once , like a little frustration slap .

It broke instantly. I had it a week.

I glued it back together, apparently the whole stick is on a very thin plastic hollow tube thingy.

it's still holding months later. (knock on wood)

Yea and some people have had issues with the programming software and some have had to RMA their units. This is a discussion thread about the X55, why is it only useful for owners to talk, or is it just people who say "positive" things? If anything I'm telling the complainers they shouldn't complain because new products are never perfect, so you wanna get in on the ground floor you should take all glitches in perspective.

No it isn't. Its very basic consumer judgment. The first release of anything is going to have flaws, bugs, or some issue like perhaps availability. Getting hyped up for a release then being dismayed that your Amazon order was cancelled from lack of available units is part of that.

I'm not saying don't buy anything right away, I'm saying if you do you have to be prepared for a setback, even if its a minor one. Something as simple as a software or driver problem could make a person's experience less than ideal and with it being a brand new product with only 300 out there its not likely you're giong to find a lot of experienced users with solutions for you.

With only 300 out there you may be one of the only people who experience that particular problem and you may be the originator of the solution, or at least the first complaint. With a budget stick from a company that probably doesn't have the best customer support I wouldn't be keen to break in a new product without at least some experienced community support.

That's a preference, but honestly its not flawed logic to suggest that a new product will have flaws. The deciding factor is whether you're willing to gamble on experiencing one and have the will or patience to live with it.

The reason I say a supercar would be the excepetion is because they may only ever make 300 of them, and when you drop $300k+ on something the company usually dances on its head to solve any problems you have.

That and having super cars usually means having to accept persistent teething problems and expensive maintenance.

In general Saitek has major quality issues with even mature products so with a new one if it bothered me I wouldn't want to face that. There's nothing bad with wanting a mature proven product over a brand new one with no pedigree.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Well maybe re-wording your sage advice might have helped convey that better, but if you read what you said, it sounded like you were questioning the wisdom of those of use that did purchase it now... and if it was just for the "complainers" remember, two wrongs dont make a right...
